quote:Pics of her so I can plan what type of conversation I would like to have with her.
I visited my dad’s gravesite with my sister a few weeks ago and had this conversation with her.
Examples of potential conversations:
“Sup”
“I didn’t know the Forester came in a yellow.”
“My god, you’re hideous looking.”
TIA

My plan:
1. Donate whatever organs can be used.
2. Donate what's left to medical research. (Future MD's need to study real bodies)

Nah they have plenty of cadavers at morgues and hospitals and plenty of living people to study and practice on too.
But the military will buy your corpse to test bombs and shite which I think is awesome but some people are put off by it.

Cremate. frick my family spending thousands of dollars for a funeral. Cremate for $800 and have a big arse party.
Even my old, super Catholic, parents are on the cremation bandwagon and my family has a huge masouleum in Metairie Cemetery.
Funerals and the burial process are such a waste of money.

I’m Catholic too but have recently come to terms with this
You will decompose anyway - God can resurrect your ashes or your fully decomposed body
It won’t matter

Team Ash here. No embalming, no visitation-straight to the furnace. I don’t even want a service unless my family feels like they need it. I’ve been treated wonderfully during my life, there’s nothing else that needs to be said after I die. They can go out for a nice dinner or boil some crawfish. Ideally, I’d like the ashes (they call them “cremains” now) to be interred in my grandmother’s grave in MO. My mama’s ashes are there, too-her wishes. She actually wanted us to mix the ashes with flowers and “plant” her on top of the grave, but we had the urn buried and added a plaque. If they want to inter me in Louisiana, there’s a cemetery/mausoleum in Covington that’s very reasonable. If they want to scatter me, that’s ok, too. I just don’t want to be embalmed and/or buried because it’s ridiculously expensive,

Neither sit me in a chair and let my funeral guest take pictures with me for $5.99. I’m an entrepreneur

I've been wrestling with the same thing. My dad wants to be cremated and the remains buried next to my grandparents who have the full burial. My mom wants to be cremated. My wife is strongly against burial/wants to be cremated. I've gotten a bit more religious over the past few years and would like my body to be intact for the resurrection. Biggest problem with burial is the cemetery where generations of my family have been buried is pretty much full. I've struggled with the decision quite a bit lately.

Have made it clear to everyone in my family multiple times that I would want to be cremated. And don't want my ashes sitting on someone's shelf -- spread them somewhere.
Also don't want a funeral. If they would need that for some kind of closure and peace of mind for themselves, ok, but personally don't want it.

There’s something to be said for having your kid spread your ashes over some glorious creation of God.
Also something comforting about being able to visit their grave.
But I kind of like that thing where they turn you into a tree

My honest wish would be a sky burial, but western sensibilities won't allow it, so roast my arse and let the ocean currents take me away

Cremated. Nobody needs to do anything with my ashes. Leave them in the furnace for all I care.
On second thought, with no plan for children, I'll probably donate.

Plus what the archdiocese charges just to open a grave is highway robbery
