I love their hamburgers but I do not eat at any of the BR stores because after years and years of shitty service they've finally conditioned me to not want to go to BK and inconvenience their staff by ordering food.

But if you ever go to Houston get off at Winnie and hit the one at the bottom of the exit with the Chevron station attached. Impeccable service everytime i've gone.

And it’s made worse when there is nobody in line behind you and they obviously only did it to trick their timer. I was once 1 of 3 cars pulled forward with ZERO people in line behind us.

Disagree here. When it’s fresh and good service they have some of the better food in their own categories

Or at some point, these restaurants will realize that Chik-Fil-A’s employee models work. You get what you pay for as far as help. Pay the help.

While I agree on pay, that’s not the whole problem. Most franchised fast food restaurants don’t have restrictions on the number of locations an owner can operate. Some investment company may own 300 Burger Kings. A store manager making 50k/yr isn’t going to uphold the same standards as an owner-operator would. Chick fil A limits the number of restaurants one operator can have. That’s why the service is better.

Every fast food chain was better in the 80s. Wendy’s had a darn good chicken sandwich. Not anymore. Haven’t been to a Wendy’s or McDs or BK in years. Canes is scratched off the list, too. The chicken was tasteless, but the fries and Texas toast good. And at least it was real chicken. Too pricey now.

used to eat at BK all the time. I haven’t eaten there in years, now.

Had a flame broiling BK next to my work for 3 years in the early 90s. Haven't eaten there since and never will.

What sane person actually eats at Burger King when there’s a McDonald’s on every corner?

Not surprising. By far the worst service in the fast food industry.

I actually kinda like their food compared to other fast food but every single BK in our metro area has been managed into the ground.

The one closest to us literally just closes at random times of the day. I assume it's because they can't staff it but who knows. Their rep is ruined around here though, there's no way they're making money. I'd be surprised if it's not 1 of the 400 being closed.

BK is a horribly run chain.

The one near us will almost certainly close down. They often aren’t even staffed enough to open, and they’ve ceased all maintenance on the building. It’s an eyesore.

How odd. BK, and every other fast food chain, have impeccable service here.

I wonder what the difference is?

The one in Lafayette on the Thruway is a sight to see. It’s a completely devoid of any interior signage, tables, chairs, etc.

I remember when McDonald’s values were:

Quality, Service, Cleanliness and Value

Burger King competed with that.

Today, neither restaurant meets what Ray Kroc started.

Quality: low

Service: poor

Cleanliness: poor

Value: low

Burger King no different.

Good riddance.

It’s societal.

I pumped gas and cleaned bathrooms at a gas station as a teenager in high school and college.

I would have loved to work fast food. I wasn’t good enough. I was deplorable. Still am.

Service industries today would love to have people like my wife and me, and my kids, and soon to be grandkids working for them.

Random BK thoughts.

Had a pretty good BK lunch at the BK beside the airport in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. They are on the main road leaving the airport. You can see their sign as your flight is landing. They day we were there, they had six guards with automatic weapons patrolling the parking lot.

Had a pretty good BK just after landing in Copenhagen. Had a forever flight through Frankfort and when we got there, our downtown hotel would not let us check in for three hours. I was wiped out, so we walked to BK and sat there with our luggage for most of the waiting. They had no ketchup out for our very good fries, just a mayo dispenser. I had forgotten how crazy many Europeans are for mayo on their fries and was too tired to try it. They did find me some ketchup though and as I walked away from the counter toward our table, one of the counter people turned to another and said, Americans..."

We go to BK on Rice Road when we are in Jackson, or the one in Vicksburg. The Clinton BK is in a gas station and sucks badly. There is also one at a gas station on H-49 just past Northside drive in Jackson. I think 3 or 4 people have been shot on that lot. Their drive by window is behind the station and I am scared to drive back there and roll down my truck window.

We went to a very good friend's funeral in Memphis maybe 20 years ago and left, headed toward Nashville to decompress. Stopped at a BK maybe in Jackson, TN. Was right after they started those chicken pieces that looked like fries. They were awful and I have no idea how long that item lasted.

Oh, by the way, Not much better in fast food than a mustard Sonic burger with tater tots and a route 44 Diet Cherry Limeaid. Several times, I have asked the wife to go north until we hit Route 66, then head west until we hit California, with the intent to only dine at Sonic places we encounter on our drive. I figure it would take us maybe a week. Not sure how many little town traffic lights we would pass on the drive.

McDonalds and Burger King's food is either cold, old, or both 90% of the time. I haven't eaten at either in years. If I want a burger, Wendy's is usually the fastest, but I'll wait longer at a place like Five Guys or Burgersmith because the food is just 100% better.

Siegen lane hardly ever have more than 1-2 cars. I go there maybe 1-2 times a month because I'm not waiting behind 10 cars at Whataburger or 20+ cars at Chic fil-A

Blows my mind how little their parent company emphasize customer service. They have a unique flavor of burger that's decent yet people refuse to buy it because they 100% don't want to deal with the ghetto employees. Even their other big chain, Tim Hortons, has gone to complete shite. Went to their store in SW Columbus and it was the same ghetto nonsense just to get coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Tim's used to be a great spot to eat and sip on coffee, but much like BK I'll pass them up to go elsewhere.
