re: How much effort are you putting into opening a closed pistachio?
Posted by SM1010 on 5/3/24 at 2:46 pm
I hate opening any kind of pistachio so I buy them already shelled from Costco....

Why get back into the same lane as her after passing if you could tell she wasn't paying attention??
Edit: Guess it could be 1 lane lol. Not many of those in the CFL burbs so didn't really cross my mind at 1st....
re: Why do so many people refer to SUVs as "trucks?"
Posted by SM1010 on 4/29/24 at 1:05 pm
Less syllables is the real answer here. Truck is simply easier to say....
re: Bic Mac dude turns 70 and downs his 34,000th Big Mac. “People said I’d be dead by now”

Probably more a routine he can't live without at this point. Some people get addicted to routines and would rather die than stop.
My dad also walks 6-7 miles a day and has done so for decades. Says life would not be worth living if he couldn't get his morning walk in anymore lol....

Fruit trees that don't get too big are the way to go in hurricane areas....
re: was your High School a football, basketball or baseball school
Posted by SM1010 on 3/29/24 at 9:16 pm
My school generally sucked at sports expect for my specific year for some reason. My class year had a bunch of good athletes that ended up playing at D1 schools like UCF, Wake Forest, etc. ...
re: Day trading the same ticker

Correct, I just trade shares. Dabbled with options for a bit but too volatile for me. ...
re: Day trading the same ticker
Posted by SM1010 on 2/15/24 at 4:45 pm
Yes I do this. But I'm probably not considered a "real" day trader cause if my trade goes south I just hold until it recovers since it's the s&p. Was stuck for a few months last year but gotten like 15 to 20 day trades in already this year.
I roll with SPLG since I only play with a small amount ...
re: What do we see next, S&P 500 at 6000 or 4000?
Posted by SM1010 on 2/9/24 at 1:13 pm
Going for record high #10 of 2024 already....
re: What do we see next, S&P 500 at 6000 or 4000?
Posted by SM1010 on 2/6/24 at 4:12 pm
S&P has already posted 7-8 record highs this year I think. This is immediately after a full recovery from a 2 year downturn.
Anything is possible but a strong year is looking far more likely than another big dump at this point....
re: How many of you guys/gals day trade and have made it your career?
Posted by SM1010 on 2/1/24 at 3:41 pm
I have not lost a trade since 2022.
But I only daytrade s&p 500 ETFs. And if they're losers I just turn them into swing trades. It's the s&p, it will recover eventually. If I get stuck not a huge deal (a solid chunk got stuck for 4 months last year).
This has been my solution to dealing with...

I do some daytrading but just for fun. I just trade reversals on s&p ETFs (shares) so it's nothing crazy.
I dabbled in options daytrading for a bit but it's way too volatile for me....
re: 50% of college football viewership comes from just 18 teams

Interesting we're still that high considering we've generally sucked since 2010. ...
re: The DowJones Industrial Average AND the S&P500 Index both closed at record highs today
Posted by SM1010 on 1/20/24 at 9:22 am
I don't get the point of this whole argument. Inflation has been bad the past few years. It's been bad in the past. It'll be bad in the future again at some point.
The most reliable way to outpace it over the long term is to invest. Everyone should be rooting for the market to thrive, especially ...

It broke through shortly after open. Quickly dropped though....
re: When will the S&P be back to all time highs?
Posted by SM1010 on 1/11/24 at 8:09 am
Agree, I think we probably breakthrough today or tomorrow. Wouldn't be shocked if it rejects and have 1 more decent sized dip before the break though....
re: When will the S&P be back to all time highs?
Posted by SM1010 on 1/10/24 at 1:35 pm
Creeping up real close again. Either way it's gonna make its move to breakthrough or dip real soon here....
