Yes if Lee and Fland can just be average.. consistently we can be really good. It just hasn't happened. Lee has had 2 solid games in a row now so that's a start.

The 2nd half of this game is I think the 1st time all year Golden has specifically told the team to not shoot 3s unless wide open.

Hopefully this continues going forward. We are not last year's team we can't just get hot and start jacking 3s. We don't have great shooting. Only take them if wide open due to ball movement.

We are a poor shooting team. It's not a slump it is what it is at this point.

Golden needs to wake up and change the offense at this point. We spend 40 seconds running around the 3 point line most possessions while being 1 of the worst shooting teams in the country.

Time to switch it up and play to our strength. Iso Haugh on the block every possession and let him work on opposing 6'5 SFs that are checking him. Chinyelu on the opposite block and Condon at free throw line. Only look for 3s on open kickouts.

Our frontcourt is our identity this year. Time to focus the offense on them instead of bricking 3s all year.

On the brightside we're going to have a ton of entertaining games this year because our frontcourt will keep us in every game yet we don't have the shooting or guard play to ever really break away.
If we can ever find shooting or decent guard play we will be a force. We've had 1 possession losses vs 2 top 5 teams despite shooting horribly.

Evaluate your basketball team thus far

Florida:

Our frontcourt has been next level dominant on the glass. They're single handedly keeping us in games despite being turnover prone and 1 of the worst shooting teams in the country. Haugh has taken the next step we had hoped and is one of the best players in the country imo.

Guard play and shooting has been atrocious. Fland has been mediocre to bad every game except the Duke game. Hopefully he can use that as progress moving forward. Lee has been so bad he's becoming unplayable. Klavzar is our only shooting threat at guard thus far but is also a big liability on defense and as a ball handler.

We are severely flawed thus far due to guard play. However if we can ever find consistent shooting and guard play we can be very very good.

Conclusion: I doubt our guard play will be consistent enough this year to be a true title contender. But we will still be one of the scariest teams in the tourney to face. Our frontcourt is so dominant on the glass that if we ever do have a solid shooting game our ceiling is as high as anyone in the country.
SEC East was quite weak during Kirby's run.

Spurrier played 2 of the top 10 programs in the 90s every single year. Plus he played Bama with Stallings most years in the early to mid 90s.

Not sure how much the Kirby had it tougher arguments really hold up.

And that's ignoring Spurrier's 10 to 11 win seasons at South Carolina during the absolute peak of SEC dominance.
Man UF is probably the best offensive rebounding team in Florida history. Haugh is probably even better than expected thus far.

I just didn't expect us to be one of the worst shooting teams in the country.

If we can ever find some shooting we will be really good. Not looking promising so far though.
Sadly LSU cares more about winning football games than us the past decade.
Even if he doesn't want to coach anymore he can just be an analyst anywhere correct?

Yah they gotta start hitting shots at some point. Our frontcourt is great but we need some shooting to go along with them.

Micah must have a concussion or something. Don't even see him on the bench.

Hard to believe how bad Lee has shot this year. Gotta think he breaks out of it eventually. He's been a good shooter his entire career.

Lee hasn't done anything tonight thus far.

Condon has been an amazing. He's so Jekyll & Hyde. Either awful or amazing not much in between.

Nah Rioux will only see a few mins at the end of 30 point blowouts this year.

Maybe not even in those games cause we also have another 6'11 guy on the bench who will get minutes over him.

Well we're finally shooting it decently but have a million turnovers. Maybe we'll play a complete game eventually.

SEC was insane last year no way to keep that up.

Still early though. Gators are an atrocious shooting team thus far so unless that drastically changes we definitely won't be defending anything.
It does. At least it does in our yard if goes long enough without rain.

FL sun plus no rain is the trick. So usually happens in winter, the dry season, over here.

Through 3 games we are an atrocious shooting team. And only Haugh and Lee can create. Could be a brutal year on offense.
My parents are nearing 70 and started throwing money in index funds right around 1985 when 401ks became widely available.

My dad says his 401k has averaged over 11% in those 40 years.

Sure there's no guarantee that continues but it's still your best odds of beating inflation and building wealth over the long term.

Klavzar doesn't have a great handle. Will be worried if he has to handle the ball a lot this year. He's more of a spot up shooter not a ball handler.

We are huge and athletic. Lee and Fland have looked good too.
Haugh at the 3 is our biggest strength this year imo.
