Haugh and Condon are amazing for breaking the press. Crazy mobile bigs who can handle it well enough.
Looks like they key to beating A&M is pass immediately up court after a rebound before they have a chance to mug you.

It's not a funk. We suck at shooting it's who we are at this point
We are wasting possessions jacking 3s yet again. When it finally seems like we're past settling for 3s and wasting possessions we always fall right back into it next game.

What an awful half. We are just jacking 3s yet again. Why do we always fall back into this pattern?
And it feels like they're allowing A&M to be way more physical. Agee literally ran down the court and rammed his shoulder into Chinyelu and they called Chin for his 2nd lol.

Effort creates scoring opportunities. We rebound close to 50% of our misses this year thanks to our front court simply outworking everyone.
Neither Chinyelu or Condon are great scorers but they're both usually in double figures due to pounding the glass and outworking people.

Golden making a career out of finding lightly recruited players who simply out effort their opponents.
Effort with upside seems to be his recruiting strategy. Even if the upside doesn't pan out the effort still has a huge impact. Good example is Handlogten who hasnt developed offensively at all in his 3 years. But he'll always be 1 of the best rebounders in the country because he's big, not a complete stiff, and out efforts his opponent.
Haugh, Condon, and Chinyelu are examples of the upside coming to fruition.

Ill take your word for it as I haven't been following it all that close.
But if there is or was any remote chance the NCAA could challenge that ruling and punish them for playing an ineligible player it certainly wasn't worth it.

Bediako signed a NBA contract. The risk doesn't seem like it's worth the reward with someone like him.
Yes. A lot of G-League players never see any meaningful time in the NBA.
For example Haugh, Chinyelu, Condon, and Fland will all see more NBA play time than Bediako.
The Bediako situation is more about the slippery slope it creates. Bediako himself is not good enough to really showcase the problem. TBH I'm not sure why it was worth risking games vacating games to get him eligible. He was never gonna turn Bama into a title contender. What was Oats thinking?

We were still jacking up 25-30 3s more than half way through the season. Was worried Golden was not going to adapt.
But clearly we're finally content to dominate the paint now and not brick 3s all year. Love to see it.

Yah but Bediako is a G-League player. He's going against Chinyelu and Condon who will both be NBA or G-League players at minimum. Not like it was a given he was going to be solid going against guys who are at or above his level.

Bediako has been solid though. Without him Bama would be hopeless down low vs us.
Bama in the bonus already.
Auburn matched our physicality. Oats teams never do that.
Why does Golden counter Oats so hard? Golden teams just too physical?
Well not if you're up 6 I guess.
Auburn should consider fouling Condon or Chin until we're in double bonus. Could steal a possession.

Free throws might cost us the game.
Close to coming down but really close. Wouldnt bother me if they call it a block.
Auburn out effort'ed UF 1st half which almost never happens. But yah we play hard all game which can wear teams down.
Perfect 1st half by Auburn. Keep us off the boards, trap our bigs anywhere near the paint and force us to win with our guards and shooting which is our weakness.
Will need to look like a different team 2nd half to win this one.

Condon brings the ball to waist level every time he gets the ball down low. Gets tied up or stripped constantly. Has not improved that at all from last year. Not sure why every team doesn't trap him every time he touches the ball.
Good game plan from Auburn. Double or trap anything that gets near the paint. Our bigs aren't great at handling traps.
Plus they're keeping us off the boards.
Plus we can't hit free throws.
Just out playing us thoroughly so far.

If Auburn can keep us off the offensive boards all game will be tough to win. That's half our offense.
But if we're hitting 3s look out!
Dunno if we settle and brick 3s all game anyone can beat us. Has been our weakness all year.

Great start by Auburn. If we can weather the storm a bit longer I'll feel good going into half.
Can't blame Nate Oats

Todd Golden been clapping those cheeks for years now. Guy doesn't wanna be out rebounded by 30 this year so having a court order an NBA reject to his team is worth a shot.
No fault in a man going to any extreme necessary to protect those buns in the future.

Oats is terrified of our front court and will go to any length necessary to better compete with us this year.
We are a horrible shooting team who settles for 3s far too often. We don't play to our strengths enough. If we can ever learn how to do that consistently we are a contender.
We played Arizona, Duke, and UConn all fairly evenly while jacking up and bricking a million 3s. Our dominance on the boards will keep us in the game vs anyone.
