Got a speeding ticket in mail from a camera on Canal Street going 29 in a 20 school zone. $75.00 fine

Total bullshite. Does this go on your insurance? How could they prove who was driving?
What happens if you don't pay it?

I think I got three right there this year. They go directly into the trash.

By doing that, you risk getting booted though

Do they report you to collections if you don't pay it?

Does this go on your insurance? No

How could they prove who was driving? The ticket "belongs" to whomever the car is registered to.

What happens if you don't pay it? Boot on your ride

I got one on Canal in a school zone in June when school was out of session. I reported the faulty light to the city. Got a report number and sent it to the ticket outfit. Dismissed. Was school actually in session at the time?

There have been problems with school zone lights in New Orleans. They are on when the should be off. I googled articles on it. Happened to me in June.

If you were going the speed limit in the area when school is out, you should be able to get it dismissed. I'd report it and get the report number, but if the time on the ticket is when school is out, that should be enough. I called the number on the ticket, got the email address, emailed them, got a confirmation email from them and letter in the mail dismissing it shortly after.

You should be glad a camera is the only thing you were shot with on Canal Street.

You will know if you get a ticket in the mail or not.

Why were you speeding through a school zone?

How in the world were you speeding on Canal? That street is always jammed up.

It's a racket. New Orleans should be investigated under the RICO act..

If you get camera tickets in NOLA and do not pay them you will get booted if found by a meter maid in the city. You will be given 24 hours to pay the fines you owe + an additional boot fee or get towed and pay additional fees

Go to city hall. Contest the tickets + plead ignorance. You will most likely get offered a settlement. Pay the settlement.

Just pay it and consider yourself lucky it's not more than $75. If you don't pay I don't think it'll go on your record but you will get a boot.
