This is being done in Oklahoma. Kids and theacher pile in and lock the door if stuff starts happening. Thoughts?

The shooter will just wait for the school bus lines.

My God, that would just be terrible. I'm beginning to think coughing up the extra money for my kid to go to private school is the best thing I can do.

That's a tornado shelter which makes perfect sense in Oklahoma.

It’s just sad that it’s come to the need for things like this to be built. What the hell has happened to the world?

Those are in place for tornadoes just as much as school shootings probably more for tornadoes, but it's no coincidence people are bringing this to light at this exact time right after a major school shooting. Politics strikes again.

Because we have not demanded this at a local level.

There is NO reason not to have harden classroom and better procedures to protect kids after Colubine 1996.

Why doesn’t a bulletproof shelter make sense elsewhere?

How does the cost of several large shelters installed compare to the cost of a cop onsite each day in perpetuity?

Really? You can’t think of a single reason?

Considering the shelter also protects against E5 tornadoes, I’d say it is a good investment in Oklahoma.
