This guy is a total douche. Maybe he had too much to drink at his exorcism.

What I've always thought is curious about Bruce Springsteen is the revisionist history of how he was this massive rock star in the 70s. When I was in junior high and high school back then I don't remember anyone going gaga over him. We knew who he was because of Born to Run. But he was just one of a number of lower tier rock acts. Bob Seger was 5x more popular in the 70s that I recall.

Methinks it was after Bruce became the preachy, liberal humorless scold that the music press started treating him more reverentially. The cynic in me would almost surmise that Bruce put on this left-wing persona as a calculated career move.

don't know what happened to him, I flew him around a bit on the Born in the USA tour, was a pretty decent dude, I thought, I tell you who would not put up with his nonsense if he were still around, Clarence Clemons, he lived by me in FL and we hung out a little, down to earth, funny dude

Right about the "Boss" but woefully ignorant about Queen.

What kind of crap do you listen to?

Depends on where you're from and he did blow up in the '80s with Born In The USA. Massively popular in the Northeast. He's number one on my shitty overrated rock star list.

For the OT's reference, here's his daughter ETA she's over 18.

that's when he went from AAA to the big leagues, as mentioned above, I did some work for him on that tour, he told me that prior to that album/tour his net worth was a little over $20k

Yeah, before then he was basically a regional draw in the Northeast. MTV also had a lot to do with it.

Am I way off for this? Kid of the 80s and I just didn’t, and still don’t, get the draw to this guy’s music. Am I missing something? Wouldn’t buy tickets to see him and if someone gave me tickets, I would probably give them to somebody that would want to go.

Any song that can be recommended to change my mind? Always open to good music but he doesn’t do it for me.

Good, he’s probably the one that suggested Jeep should put the Red China Star in the middle of the United States map at the end of the Jeep Super Bowl commercial.
