BRPD work 2 Fatal Shootings in 12 hours

Baton Rouge Police Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred last night around 11:30pm in the 12400 block of Cate Avenue.
Hugo Lopez, 22 of 12425 Cate Avenue was located suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
The 2nd fatal shooting occurred this morning at a BREC park off S. Sherwood across from Picadilly Cafeteria.

Originally I was thinking that maybe they just found the body this morning but then i remembered that I drove right by that park around 7 this morning and there were no cops around and kids waiting on the bus.

She's my neighbor. That neighborhood behind those apartments is Afton Oaks but you can get to Woodland Ridge through there. I cut through there everyday.
