JUST IN: In a statement, @MayorBroome calls the homicides over the past 24 hrs “concerning” and says “we must stand united against the violence.” She further asks for prayers @WAFB

"We" must stand united? Hey Broome, newsflash. "We" don't need to do shite. YOUR people in NBR need to unite together and figure their shite out. 90-95% of Baton Rouge doesn't deal with the bullshite that NBR deals with.
When will she actually fricking condemn the specific areas who continue to act like animals? Why must she continue to lump the entire city in it like its a city wide problem?

It’s going to be cold the next few nights. Everyone get your blankets out.

It’s a little more than concerning & it’s going to take more than prayers to clean up the city.
I’m just shocked she didn’t announce meeting next week to talk about it

I think we need to raise taxes so we can fund more midnight basketball and rap lessons.

their solution, besides changing street lights and towing broken down cars, is to all gather in an area, light candles, and have some douche talk about how violence is bad
im sure the gang members will take notice and stop the dealing and killing

You guys just don’t get it. By stand together she just means you need to give them more of your hard earned money to make up for all the injustices our fore fathers are responsible for. Once that happens BR will be a utopia that the world aspires to be.

This is what happens when you let people who depend on the government for everything vote.
You get Marcelles and Chaunas and Broome’s

Her schedule is likely already full of bullshite meetings. No time to discuss how her constituency is ruining the city.

Only black on black violence is bad. It's still cool to shoot cops and rob white people.

Wrong. Black on black crime doesn't get talked about. Nobody ever sees what happens. Amazing how when a cop shoots a guy anywhere in America, fricktons of people all over the country claim to know what happened. Ask the neighbor of a guy who gets murdered in NBR and they know absolutely nothing.

Using slogans like “stand united” should put a stop to the murders. If not she can introduce “hope” and “change”.

I was talking about Silky Slim saying the black community got justice when Gavin Long killed those three cops. But I completely agree with you.

North Baton Rouge is already united. They hate cops and will not help them solve anything. That's pretty damn united if you ask me.

Nobody fricking knows. It's absolutely amazing. Had a white cop shot a black kid in that same place on that same night, I gaurantee you people in fricking Atlanta would claim to know everything.

I've had a couple Baton Rouge police buddies of mine say that the nephew of a fairly prominent local troublemaker is to blame, but they can't pin it on him for whatever reason. Of course, the police had to work their arse off to even get close to a suspect because the 100 people there saw absolutely nothing, of course.

What’s the point when the citizens aren’t willing to help the cops by saying what they’ve witnessed?
I guess we need to all calm down, next week when Paul takes over with community policing everyone is going to get along & work together.
