I agree she needs to take Officer’s with badges from behind desk, throw them out of the motor pool, etc putting them back on the streets. I am sorry these guys carry a badge, some think after 2 yrs I do not need to be apart of uniform patrol, and they hide behind desk. Large depts these guys would still be on the streets and that is why officers from larger depts have more experience. These guys have worked 5 to 10 yrs on the streets not 2 yrs on the streets and 3 to 8 yrs behind desk.

Nobody fricking knows. It's absolutely amazing. Had a white cop shot a black kid in that same place on that same night, I gaurantee you people in fricking Atlanta would claim to know everything.
And have video.

Elvis warned us about this back in 69
quote:
As the snow flies On a cold and gray Chicago mornin' A poor little baby child is born In the ghetto And his mama cries 'cause if there's one thing that she don't need it's another hungry mouth to feed In the ghetto People, don't you understand the child needs a helping hand or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day Take a look at you and me, are we too blind to see, do we simply turn our heads and look the other way Well the world turns and a hungry little boy with a runny nose plays in the street as the cold wind blows In the ghetto And his hunger burns so he starts to roam the streets at night and he learns how to steal and he learns how to fight In the ghetto Then one night in desperation a young man breaks away He buys a gun, steals a car, tries to run, but he don't get far And his mama cries As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man face down on the street with a gun in his hand In the ghetto As her young man dies, on a cold and gray Chicago mornin', another little baby child is born In the ghetto

It’s going to be cold the next few nights. Everyone get your blankets out.
That used to slow the shootings, to mainly Domestic calls, from drinking.
It's cold as frick, and they are out shooting all kinds of shite last night and tonight.
Miss the days of 5 degree highs, - with windchill, and no shootings. Those were the days.

Temps in the 30s generally keeps people off the streets in BR

When will she actually fricking condemn the specific areas who continue to act like animals?
Never. Those are the people who got her elected. She's not going to bite the hand that feeds her.

Why must she continue to lump the entire city in it like its a city wide problem?
Since when has the black community in any major city taken responsibility for their own problems? It's easier to blame white people, and that's the avenue that Broome and her administration are going down. If you haven't read the report put together by her transition team shortly after she took office, then you should. It's eye opening to say the least. Just about every major problem plaguing the city was somehow blamed on racist white people.
I caught some of her state of the city address online. I wasn't surprised that she spoke in platitudes and said nothing of real consequence. She recognized problems such as blight, crime, litter, etc. but offered no clue as to how she will go about addressing the issues.

Do you people think LaToya Cantrell will do a good job an the new mayor of New Orleans? Obviously the people of the city believe she is the most qualified person for the position.
