To those who voted for the tax, quit bitching.

We all knew Broome was going to do her best to steer taxpayer money to her cronies rather than actually fix roads.

That's not the fields. That's your old-arse knees as the problem.

The thread of glorifying BREC was just a few days after the thread on how superior New Orleans is to Austin in virtually every category. So I'm keeping that in mind as well.

$300 million of enhancement and beautification projects, such as the creation of sidewalks and planting of trees.

For that price every road in BR should have a sidewalk, but they will find a way to spend it all on a few roads

But Raiford could not be reached by phone in time for publication this morning

Looks like we need 2 Directors of Transportation and Development too!

Metro Council member Barbara Freiberg is among those concerned by the administration’s decision to seek two managers.

But she'll end up voting to hire 3 of them.

Some rough math here. At 10.00 per linear foot installed this would be over 5500 miles of sidewalk.

Or at about 50.00 per planted tree, about 6 million trees?

A combination of both?

What are we missing here.

The issue with sidewalk projects in BR and the state is that it's usually next to a road with an open ditch and minimum Right of way space. So that means a good bit of drainage for the project and/or Right of way / Property acquisition which drives the price of these "sidewalk" projects way up

They've got more than enough money to do this themselves
