A Hampton County, South Carolina family is grieving the loss of their 6-year-old son who was mauled to death by a pit bull this week.
According to the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office, a 6-year-old boy was attacked by a pit bull in Brunson, South Carolina around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
By the time deputies arrived on scene

In the video, she said that her son was attacked by a pitbull that had been abandoned and she was trying to find a home for.

“I was an advocate supporter for pit bull… and what happened today happened so fast there was nothing anyone could do,” the mother said between tears.

She said that the family is requesting space at this time.

“We are going through the hardest thing of our lives right now,” she said. “It does not even feel real that we will wake up tomorrow and our son won’t be here.”

Per South Carolina law for any child death in the state, the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating the case.

Just days before the attack, the Hampton County mother posted a photo of the pit bull (shown at the top of this article) to see if anyone wanted to adopt the dog, which appeared to be purposely abandoned by its previous owners. In the post, she indicated that the dog appeared to be good around children and was not aggressive from what she could tell.

“Pit bulls make up only 6% of the dog population, but they’re responsible for 68% of dog attacks and 52% of dog-related deaths since 1982,” a 2014 TIME magazine article said.

frick pit bulls and the trashy arse fricking people who defend them.

We'll soon have posters here claiming it is the owners and not the breed. How many times does this need to happen for people to realize that this breed needs to be exterminated?

Something tells me the 68% & 52% figures will be a lot higher when they update the figures

We’ll never know. For some reason, people want to defend the breed and get all bent out of shape when the news media reports actual statistics.

When do we start the march for Pitbull injustice? I want to make sure I have my bulletproof vest shipped in time.

This is the bad think about pit bulls. If anyone should own them it should be responsible people who are aware of what the dog is capable of and will not allow the dog to be in situations where it will have an opportunity to do what they are capable of.

Instead, a lot of the owners are trashy fricking people who have to try to prove to everyone who says pit bulls are not a good breed to have, that they are wonderful, lovable dogs (which I guess they can be if owned by the right people), but then their dog does something stupid, because they are shitty owners, that only reinforces the stereotype.

We need to go ahead and make a pit bull island. The dogs and the owners can live there.
