A Little League tee-ball game in Kentucky descended into chaos when a dozen parents engaged in a nasty fight over an umpire's call - leaving young players in tears

quote:

The brawl erupted on Monday at a baseball field in Stanton after the coach of one team of kids ranging in age from five to seven stormed the field and threw his hat down at home plate

Braxxtin’s dad does not play that fricking missed call shite.

quote:

A coach in the red shirt threw his hat down and began arguing with the umpire over what he perceived as a bad call and then lashed out at the other team's coaches all while a child looks on at home plate

quote:

But verbal confrontation quickly escalated into a physical brawl, and people joined the scrum while others grabbed the kids

Don’t even want to know what all these parents will be like when all of their kids make it to the big leagues.

How does an inning ever end? I have seen maybe a combined 6 outs ever made in the 50+ tee ball games I have watched

Parents and coaches take this shite way too seriously. I like watching my son play baseball but it's not the end of the world if they lose or if bad calls are made. My son is 7 and his team played in the 8U spring league this year. Their very first game the umpire apparently missed a call and the other team's coach had video proof that the call was wrong. The umpire laughed and asked what he thought this was and told him the call was made and to move on. The coach lost it and pulled his team of the field and they all left.

Usually each team goes once through the lineup each inning.

At least that is how it was when my kids played.

there's too much at stake here for it to blown by incompetent officials! I almost lost it last weekend when the scorer cheated my little Chais out a couple of points in the rock climbing finals, came in second and no ring!!!

Long time ago...probably 1984 or so, I was a 14 year old kid watching my younger sister's softball game. She'd have been 12. I was sitting in the bleachers with my dad, probably after a baseball practice of my own, and the other team was at the plate and a girl hit a long drive for a triple, but as she rounded second I thought she clearly missed it. Being the argumentative dick I was, I said so...loudly.

Within 10 seconds parents of my sister's team (though not my dad who was looking at my furiously by this point) started looking at me and asking if it was true. I looked at my dad scowling at me, and said, "Yeah...I mean, she missed it by a mile."

This began a 10 minute argument that ended up involving parents, coaches and the umpire who, looking back, may have not been much older than myself. My dad just kept staring holes in me, and I just watched it all unfold. I mean, she missed the bag!

No punches thrown...again, this was the 80's.

My dad told me I could never go watch a game of her's again with him.
