let's all remember this is literally the only reason this even became a story in the first place

It most definitely DOES violate state ethics.
Transition teams aren't appointed members of boards and commissions.

Cannot be stressed enough.
This whole things starts and ends with silky

So how does a transition team differ from a board?
I'm sure they mean boards or commissions that have legislative powers. These transition teams are really just pep rally coordinators.

This is correct.

Any future contracts will have to be reviewed and approved by the mayor and authorized by her or the city's chief administrative officer.
I'm glad they implemented a system of checks and balances.

While I love how vigilant the media/public has been with the current administration, I wish they would have focused this much effort on previous administrations. Perhaps we wouldn't see property sold for less than 2% of the fair market value...

Yep, the people Missus Mayor surrounds herself with are too fricking stupid to keep their cockholsters shut.

If I were Broome I would immediately blame this on the shadow government and yell loudly to my constituents that the shadow government is trying to kill me.
I'm quite confident this tactic will work out for her.

Reminds me of my buddy telling me about how they used to beat the all black football teams in HS. You just get ahead of them early then they start fighting and blaming each other so much that they don't even realize you've snapped the ball again.

The public/media is vigilant now because of the scandal with COA coming to light from the old lady's family lawsuit and from Silky Slim's comments at the council meeting. Without those 2 incidents, there wouldn't be all these witch hunts and acquisitions to begin with

He's gotten a lot of help on this one. Plenty of people have been looking into this.
And all because that dumbass Silky Slim just couldn't refrain from talking shite.
Incredible. Abso-fricking-lutely incredible.

Silky Slim was. His contract has been canceled.

Remember when you thought SWB would be okay?

Black Politician's Playbook
1.) Get elected using slogans like "Our Mayor For Our Community" "The people's Representative"
2.) Oh holy shite what do I do
3.) Start stealing money and doling out rewards to supporters
4.) Neglect mandated duties
5.) Start getting really sloppy and routing public money into your checking account
6.) FBI investigations
7.) Run for office during investigation while claiming it's a witch hunt and racist
8.) Nearly win or win
9.) Jail

I really think this is what happens.
These people run based on party (racial lines). Spew some bs to get elected. Then don't realize just how much technical stuff/responsibility/work holding that office entails.
Then they either don't figure out how to delegate, delegate to the wrong people, or both.
Perfect example is SWB. I mean she bitched about not having a vacation her first 6 months in office.
I would think those first few months are CRUCIAL. I wouldn't want to take a vacation.

My interpretation is:
1.) Get elected using slogans like "Our Mayor For Our Community" "The people's Representative"
2.) Oh holy shite what do I do
3.) Think you can do whatever you want since you're the mayor
4.) Have a blatant disregard for any type of rules, regulations, or ethical codes
5.) Get busted
6.) Blame white people
7.) When racism acquisitions fall flat, blame everyone around you
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that many black folks never accept responsibility for anything negative and will do absolutely anything to pin it on someone else. Turning on each other is simply an inevitability. Just look at the Freddie Grey situation. Majority black city, black Mayor, majority black city council, black police chief, majority non-white police force, black DA, and a black judge. And what was the first thing out of everyone's mouths? That's right, racism.

Titles are valued more than anything in their community. That's why they're always referring to themselves as Dr., attorney, reverend, councilman, mayor, etc. Hell, even the wives of some pastors refer themselves as "the first lady of the church". They all want their coveted titles yet have zero interest in conducting the work associated with said title.
