No stop in St. James, no care. If I have to drive to LaPlace or Gonzales, might as well go the rest of the way to NO or BR.

If I were the people in charge of this project, I would get service up and running on the stretch from MSY to CBD (with its stop at Zephyr) running ASAP. That way, I'd have more time to get the BR side of things and the issue of the Spillway tracks resolved.

Plus, only an idiot could mismanage a rail link between MSY and the CBD poorly enough to not turn a profit which could be used to help finance the costs of the rest of the project.

It doesn't need to turn a profit. Shouldn't be a qualification.

See, I almost think the better idea is just to run a more frequent train between MSY and NOLA CBD to start. Guaranteed traffic. Then worry about the rest later.

The BR link just isn’t that compelling. It’s gonna run only a few times per day, not every hour or anything.

If it is a 4 hour round trip then it doesnt make sense to have one every hour.

They do not. This is the set of tracks that goes down perkins and then follows Airline down into New Orleans.

The tracks by LSU (that actually go through downtown BR) are the ones that follow the River. They didn't want to use those because the chemical plants would pitch a fit having people riding through their plants every day.

Could they not build a spur to connect the two?

I’d be willing to bet CATS will offer some sort of bus from TS to the rail station

Please look at the EBR Redevelopment Authority Facebook page, then its lone contributor, then tell me what you think this $250,000 given to this organization by the Metro Council was all about

I’m sure my great, great grandchildren will use it plenty.

They'll be complaining about how far behind Louisiana is compared to the rest of the country and bitching that they can't have a super hyper flying car loop like Houston.

No way this thing runs at 200+ through the heart of Gonzales, Laplace, and a couple refineries while sharing a single track with freight. The logistics will be a mess if another track doesn't get added.

One too many stops.

Why is there a Jefferson Stop and a Kenner stop?
