The Real Superstore... From what I remember, it was really clean and had good meats/fruits/veggies.
The BR Schweggmann's was a great store

Why couldnt O'Charlies on Coursey stay open longer than 3 years? It was good when I went.

Anyone else recall that spot?

If i recall right there wasnt there a taco bell on highland a little ways past the north gates? Seems there was one there in mid 90s
A taco bell blocks from hugely popular bars failing?

I remember Church's, I don't eat TB so I never noticed

I left BR around '90, when I came back about 10 years later that whole area -- party central in my LSU days -- was pretty much a ghost town

+1

There was practically an hour wait from about 2:30 am to 3:30 am on Friday and Saturday nights at that location. It was always busy.

I would like to 2nd Bennigan's. So much better than both Applebee's and Chilli's. Especially the location on Highland right off campus. I know chain restaurants are trashy, but there was something not quite as trashy about Bennigan's.

The Times off of Essen in BR
As elprez said, there’s still a Times in Mandeville and there’s also one in Slidell in the old RR Depot building.

Surprised no one has mentioned...

But a quick Google check, and surprisingly they're still open. I haven't heard much about them lately, probably because no one has been shot there recently.

Here is Biggie Small's brother indicating that he has been dead for seven years. His sidekicks are just learning to count to two.

Man, I'd forgotten about Brunet's. I only got taken there once before they closed, but man was their gumbo good.
