Times is still open in mandeville. The endless road construction on Essen doomed that place. Surprised Copeland’s made it through

The Tulane Athletic Department was there one minute and just disappeared the next.

The Real Superstore. Needing a quarter to use a basket was brilliant. Little worry of having a stray basket hitting your car in the parking lot. Doubt that they invented the idea, but they were the only ones in SELA that I've ever seen use it.

The only other place I've seen that quarter deposit thing outside of an airport was in Lafayette... at The Real Superstore.

Did they return the quarter when you were done? What was the purpose

Exactly that.

Sorry, I should have clarified. You put a quarter in a contraption on the basket which would release a lock that had it tied to other baskets. To get the quarter back, you had to re-lock it to another basket and it would release the quarter.

Even if someone left the basket at some random spot in the lot, some broke dick would happily return it for the quarter.

GERMANS!

No, seriously, the Aldi grocery chain does exactly that. Founded in Germany, all over the US, surprised it's not in LA.

Pei Wei is the shite, it’s PF Chang’s for half the price.

I was stunned when the Champps in Lincolnshire, Illinois closed too but there seems to have been a larger issue with the franchise that caused even profitable locations to close.

Church's on Highland north of LSU. I don't know how a fried chicken place goes out of business in that area.
