got an email from the priest and principal this morning. basically said it was weighing their options before they made a final decision

My oldest went to two camps at Catholic Schools this summer, no masks. How does this make sense?
Because if they mandate masks at summer camp it will greatly reduce participation and they will lose money. Thanks to EBR schools they have almost no competition for the regular school year and can do what they want.

They aren’t going to enforce any of this… it’s just a legal CYA move.
An unenforced policy is not a policy. So legally there is no CYA.

I think so too. everyone is tired of this charade, and when i say everyone, i mean the teachers. they aren't going to enforce this.

I guarantee you, some lunatic mom named Karen is going to raise seven kinds of hell the second these rules are not enforced.

According to that letter, Father Yi from St George is the Sec of schools. And the vicar general is Tom Ranzino, former St George priest. So I assume they're 100% for sure on board with this.

They’ve all been bought. They’ll be on board.
Our school was too chicken shite to even bring it up separately. They buried it as a separate link at the bottom of the first page of a newsletter without special attention called to it.

https://childrenshealthdefense.org/wp-content/uploads/chd-notice-for-eua-masks.pdf
quote:
This serves as notice that the mandate for any individual to wear a mask against
COVID-19 for employment or attendance at a university or other institution violates
federal law. All COVID-19 masks, whether surgical, N95 or other respirators, are
authorized, not approved or licensed, by the federal government; they are Emergency Use
Authorization (EUA) only. They merely “may be effective.” Federal law states:
Title 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(e)(1)(A)(ii)(I-III) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act
(FD&C Act) states:
individuals to whom the product is administered are informed—
(I) that the Secretary has authorized the emergency use of the product;
(II) of the significant known and potential benefits and risks of such use, and of the
extent to which such benefits and risks are unknown; and
(III) of the option to accept or refuse administration of the product, of the
consequences, if any, of refusing administration of the product, and of the
alternatives to the product that are available and of their benefits and risks.
EUA products are by definition experimental and thus require the right to refuse. Under
the Nuremberg Code, the foundation of ethical medicine, no one may be coerced to
participate in a medical experiment. Consent of the individual is “absolutely essential.” A
federal court held that even the U.S. military could not mandate EUA vaccines to soldiers.
Doe #1 v. Rumsfeld, 297 F.Supp.2d 119 (2003).
In a letter dated April 24, 2020, the Food and Drug Administration stated that authorized
face masks must be labelled accurately and may not be labeled in a way that misrepresents
the product’s intended use as “source control to help prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2.”
The letter specifies that the labeling “may not state or imply that the product is intended
for antimicrobial or antiviral protection or related uses or is for use such as infection
prevention or reduction.” Any EUA mandate requiring individuals to wear face masks
conflicts with Section 360bbb-3(e)(1)(A)(ii)(I-III), which provides that the person must be
informed of the option to refuse to wear the device.
Liability for forced participation in a medical experiment, including possible injury, may be
incalculable. Children’s Health Defense urges U.S. employers, universities and other
institutions to respect and uphold the rights of individuals to refuse to wear EUA masks.

And no one can prove it with any long term study to sway opinion. They can only issue their opinion on how you should handle your private healthcare decisions.
Oh and you can't sue the manufacturer or the government for lying to you about it either. So frick you, peon.

Was coming here to post this. I'm seriously considering homeschooling our kids for this school year. This letter is particularly cute considering churches, football practice, workouts, camps, etc. sponsored by the schools have been PACKED with adults and kids not wearing masks.
Further, kids are now being made to wear a "scarlet letter" to show that they're not participating. Can you imagine the peer pressure now? Children are going to be begging their parents for a vaccine so they don't have to wear a mask at school.

That’s why they’re doing it.
Also, for something that has 0 effect on them and that they would only know if they even have if they got tested

They probably need to hire another senior advisor at 400k a year before they can figure out what to do

I’m reading the diocese letter right now. In the quarantine section it states:
“Vaccinated individuals do not have to quarantine, even if they are in close contact with COVID-19 infection, if asymptomatic”
I thought asymptomatic spread was the single most dangerous aspect of this virus. Why does vaccination dictate quarantine procedures when it’s been shown over and over again the vaccine doesn’t stop the spread but rather massively reduces symptoms?

Every freaking parent of a student in a Catholic school in EBR better be bombarding the Diocese and their individual schools with emails and phone calls. That's the only way to have a shot at reversing course.
