Don’t forget all the medical professionals whose children attend Catholic schools. Are every one of them pro-child vaccination? Have their children been under quarantine all summer? Ask your medical professorial friends about COVID 19 vaccines for children, and whether it was right (and just) for their children to have been on lockdown all summer!
How effective, and honestly entertaining, would it be to have parents dressed as Moses holding massive signs reading, “Let my children breathe!”, parading up and down South Acadian in front of the Diocese’s offices?

I’m not going to argue for or against masks / vaccines.
What I will say is that this:
actually makes me believe what he has to say.
I don’t trust the university system. They are tied to big pharma in, what seems to me, an insidious nature.
What I will say is that this:
quote:
In July 2021 the university cut its ties with Walach, stating that Walach's work "misleadingly used data to yield conclusions that are wrong and may lead to public harm."
actually makes me believe what he has to say.

The Petition online is approaching 7000 signatures, which is HALF the number of enrolled students in the Diocese!!!!

May be time for the Diocese to consider putting some school properties up for sale!

I got the letter. Thankful my child is only 4. No way in hell I’ll let her get the vaccine.
This is what the state is going to do to force people to get the vaccine.

just read in an Advocate article about this BS that Baton Rouge public schools will be mask optional. If that is true, what in the world is the Diocese thinking. I can't believe this.

As others have pointed out, Catholic hierarchy and diocesan officials are often out of touch from those they serve, just like any other bureaucracy.
The diocese set up some kind of committee with OLOL to implement a policy based on CDC guidelines and Louisiana public school policy. Federal, state, Catholic, and hospital bureaucracy combined to create their policy.
I doubt there was much input from their teachers, principals, or families. Their schools are filled with MD parents and other medical and research professionals, as well as their alumni base and donors.

Agreed money will be the deciding factor in why the diocese changes their stance

Thankfully in Texas Abbott said they can’t be mandated. Although that may not apply to private schools but far less kids are in those here. We have great schools in the burbs. Although I doubt we’d even have the mandate even if they could.
Not living in Louisiana do they make people wear masks at service on Sunday? I’d guess not because that would impact their bottom line.

You are correct. That's part of the uproar.

Everyone except the diocese of BR. Also, EBR does a good job of not committing to anything.
quote:
At this time, and in partnership with our healthcare leaders, the district is reviewing the possibility of allowing optional masking for those individuals who have been fully vaccinated. No final decision has been made. The district will continue to monitor the immunization rates, the number of Covid-19 cases, and the variants in our community,” stated Stacey Dupre, Chief Officer for Support and Special Projects.
All future decisions and guidance will be made with our Health Advisory Committee comprised of doctors from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, regional epidemiologists, and representatives from the Louisiana Department of Health.
At this point in time, EBRPSS will still require physical distancing, enhanced cleaning protocols, continued contact tracing, and handwashing, in accordance with CDC and LDH guidance.
The currently required guidance from the LDOE and LDH will expire on June 30, 2021. The EBRPSS will continue to follow the same guidance in place over the course of the school year and summer enrichment until the close of summer activities. Final Guidance for the 2021 – 2022 school year will be communicated by August 3, 2021.

BR Diocese mask policy for schools is so dumb

You figure the 16000 enrollees probably belong to about 8-10 thousand households. If the 8000 signature divided by 2 thinking both parents voted, the Diocese is about to lose 40% of its tuition income.
It is like they told someone to hold their beer in the go woke go broke arena.
