How do you decide whom to trust? It is far more likely an individual researcher is tied to big pharma for insidious purposes than a university. Institutions sometimes sell their souls for money, but in a much broader sense. An accusation of data manipulation not objectively supported by fact would expose the institution to serious legal and reputational liability.

No it isn’t.

4,000 families aren’t leaving the catholic schools and heading to EBR parish schools, who will likely follow the same rules, over this.

I think the rules need to change drastically, but there will not be a mass exodus over this.

I agree. Especially with the school year a month away. However, there could be significant decreases in donations, volunteers, and tithes

How are they going to handle buses?

I guess the unvaccinated kids will have to sit in the back of the school bus? That sounds familiar.

Some of the same kids are going to play tackle football too.

They didn’t think this through.

It’s not thought through at all. Especially considering masks aren’t required in mass right now. You know when people sit shoulder to shoulder and shake hands?

They should just make ask optional and strongly encourage it for those unvaccinated and be done with it.

This. It’s very easy to stop donating.

I cannot tell if this was just pure stupidity or a plan hatched to get more people to get the vaccine.

It would be helpful for us here, to see a copy of schools’ financial contracts with parents. Do the schools reserve the right to implement mandatory mask-wearing at any time, indefinitely, indoors? Do they reserve the right to mandate new vaccines ad infinitum? Who ultimately for the Diocese determines what is mandatory, and who defines what is safe? Those are the people who should prepare to be sued.

[What we may not know follows. The most prominent cell line, called HEK 293, comes from an abortion performed in the 1970’s. It’s labeled 293 because that’s how many experimental attempts the researchers needed to get a working cell line. Therefore, though the abortion-to-experiment ratio is not precisely one-to-one, hundreds of abortions went into the project, even if they didn’t result in the working line.

HEK stands for human embryonic kidney. To harvest a viable embryonic kidney for this purpose, sufficiently healthy children old enough to have adequately-developed kidneys must be removed from the womb, alive, typically by cesarean section, and have their kidneys cut out. This must take place without anesthesia for the child, which would lessen the viability of the organs. Instead of being held, rocked, and comforted in the time intervening between their birth and their death, they have organs cut out of them alive.]

LINK

So the Diocese of Baton Rouge is forcing parents to suppress their religious objections to vaccines developed using aborted babies? How absolutely insane is that? And supposedly in the name of child protection?

None of it makes any sense.
Nothing of consequence has even been discussed in a year. Mortality, ventilators, etc.
All we hear is cases, but they don't really even want to discuss Florida or other open states.
How little difference opening everything up has made.
Fans packing stands at events with no effect.

And yet, schools... Kids, the least effected group are the only ones having to abide by these draconian rules.
It's bullshite.

The cdc even published a study that showed masks were only 2% effective over 100 days. So, even they admitted masks don't work (or have miniscule impact).
Of course they buried the info deep in the article and spun it as having a positive effect.
2%. What a joke.
This illogical oppression needs to stop.

I truly hope the organizers of the Change.org petition hold a press conference on the sidewalk in front of the diocese. They are up to nearly 9,000 signatures! The “Catholic” Marxists should be very proud of their fellow Catholics’ community organizing!

We also don't hear about how skewed the # of cases and deaths are. 2 states are responsible for majority of the actual covid deaths through their own gross negligence.

Also, ever notice how the ticker for Covid #'s were never reset for 2021? Every disease/virus in the US is tracked yearly, by number of cases. The flu isn't aggregated in perpetuity. It is restarted every year. So there was no end in the 2020 covid count. Instead, it's just total cases, EVER. This is how they fear monger.

I saw Kirin's report about this. I disagree that the number one concern is the separation. I think the number one concern is the hypocrisy and lack of consistency. Kids can be without a mask on Sunday at mass but have to wear one at school. Kids can go to the catholic school camp all summer with no mask but magically on August 6 they have to wear a mask.

Their (Diocese) claim that people have been traveling and that somehow they need an abundance of caution as they return makes it sound like the kids returning from a beach vacation or Disney, or family reunion are somehow "dirty" or potential "carriers" is simply ignorant. Those same kids were at camp and mass last Sunday.

Go to home depot and grab an N-95 (much better than the cloth napkin kids are wearing or the star wars t-shirt cut up with elastic bands) It says on it "Not acceptable for asbestos remediation" Asbestos particles are 300-700% larger than the largest virus particle. If it cannot stop asbestos it cannot stop a virus.

I think the Diocese, in an effort to demonstrate transparency, should survey all their employees to find which ones want the vaccine but haven’t been able to get it. Then, in charity, they should help those employees get the vaccine. Then, in charity, they should put their faith in science and back off their paranoia that is driving them to compromise children’s health to suit their anxieties,

Does the Diocese offer mental health counseling for employees who are truly terrified of COVID 19 and the children they think may transmit it to them, even though they are vaccinated?

Signed the petition last night and about to call/email diocese and OLOM.

My daughter is 9 (son is 11 and at a public school in Ascension), been in camp with friends all summer (no masks or distancing) and I take both of them to church every Sunday. Prior to this news yesterday, it was my understanding that OLOM was not going to be doing social distancing and would not require masks. IF this is enforced and not just a CYA, I legit may consider discussing this with the ex-wife and putting both kids together (something I’m EXTREMELY disinclined to do).

The ex is going to LOVE yanking my daughter out, just to spite me and really don’t want to give in because I believe it’s in my daughter’s best interest to stay at Mercy.

We need to know:

What percentage of teachers agreed to teach this year, only if the policy set forth by the Diocese was enforced? If so, how long have those teachers known about the planned policy, while parents and children were kept in the dark?

Are there any teachers who disagree with Diocesan policy? A stealth teacher could send out a teacher survey and collect data of teachers who don’t want masks or vaccine mandates. If a significant number of teachers, and parents and students, don’t want masks or mandates, why not organize into new school groups? A student doesn’t have to attend a Catholic school to play a sport - parents at Catholic schools organized sports leagues outside the schools last fall and spring.

When educational groups have educated, committed and energetic leaders who are also parents, the force for change is unstoppable!

Just got the cut and pasted letter from our principal and he didn’t even bother to sign it. lol

It still had “Principal’s name” under “Yours in Christ”.

I wouldn’t sign that crap either. I know the principals are in a stuff spot.

I read it last night, but didn't notice this until I read it again this morning. LOL.

Just left a voicemail with a Mrs. Woodruff (didn't catch the first name), but she is the bishop's secretary. I'll follow up tomorrow or next week if I don't get a timely callback.

Mercy principal is next.
