Maybe you should not try to speak for other posters when you don't know what you're talking about.....
Maybe the other LSURussian poster was the one that posted irrational insults towards the people in support of the incorporation of St. George last time around.

Stop digging. The hole is already over your head.

Then why did I vote in favor of Central incorporating and for them to form their own school district?
LIAR! I say that laughing, because that's how your posts usually went. If you did not live in the proposed city of Central then you did not vote on its incorporation.

Do you really expect me to believe you signed a petition without knowing what it was, yet somehow you're informed on the details of the formerly proposed city?
You can still see exactly what the petition looked like here:

Either you're lying or you're incredibly retarded.
Maybe you lack basic reading comprehension skills.
I was lied to about what the petition was for. I knew it was about St. George, which is why I informed the guy shoving the thing in my face that I was ineligible to sign. He doubled down on his lie. I knew he was lieing, and I signed... because who isn't for better schools.

He also made his bed when his other publication (225) put Gary Chambers on their "People to Watch" list for 2017. I have no clue why anyone would give Gary any credence.
I'm surprised you guys haven't run him out of town yet.

If the area for incorporation is a large area with little or no identifiable characteristics I will oppose it. I certainly don't think there should be new city which sprawls from the Amite/Comite Rivers on the northeast side to the Mississippi River on the southwest
We know why the city was drawn so large, but I agree with you here; that was a big problem with the plan.
An ISD that large was no issue, but a city like that could be problematic.
That is a problem inherent with the way the legislature wants to look at ISDs. A city and a school district have two different missions.
We had the cities of BR, Zachary, and Baker for years, but we had a school system that encompassed the entire parish proving that SDs and cities do not have to be one and the same.
By trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, SG had a problem before they started.

I supported their incorporation effort and voted for them to get a new school district. Is that better?

I thought the whole point of St. George was an ISD.
The city and ISD would be two entirely separate entities with two different organizations running it and two different budgets, sources or revenues, etc.
Just like EBRSS and EBR is now.

They're probably letting Broome crash and burn as much as possible before going on the PR campaign for St. George.
Her office accidentally released the names of people who received BRAVE funding as confidential informants for BRPD.
Highly likely that she will do something else incredibly stupid.

So why did the petition "volunteers" feel the need to lie about the purpose of the petition?
There were some contracted signature collectors in the beginning. That was a YUGE mistake, and they were responsible for the few forgeries that were found. I doubt some of the repeated stories I've heard, but I can absolutely concede/believe the same forgers were dishonest in other ways. They also should have never been at any business.

If I recall correctly, you were very angry about St. George.

Yes. But you would have tried to nail me on a similar comment, and you know it lol.
I have bigger fights than SG these days, but I still hope it happens for them on some scale. The parish will be better for it.

First time I'd heard this, thxs for sharing.
Stuff like that really hurts and distracts from the real debate.
There are real issues here, issues that deserve discussion, but there were too ancillary things that let people take their eye off the ball and it was used against SG.
I saw above where you intend to volunteer again, you are a better man than me. Big money doesn't ant this to happen so it won't.

I think he's trying to pretend that he's some kind of independent voice on this issue.

Nah, just the 2. Used my wife's to rustle your feathers. It worked. You was mad. I've moved on, you should too. You have lots of stupid posts on the matter.

If they had only been honest with their citizens about what to expect if the incorporation was successful I would not have been so adamant in my opposition.
And before you ask what deception did they use, I'm not going to rehash all of that now. If you're really interested I'm sure you can find numerous threads about St George from 2 years ago if you use the search function.

The entire state voted on Central getting it's own school system. It had to pass the City vote and the state vote.

I'm not trying to be an "independent voice" at all.
I 100% opposed the St George incorporation effort as it was. I may or may not oppose it if it starts back up depending on what I've already posted in this thread. (And if the organizers will try to be honest with their citizens.)

True..
But who voted to let it become a City? It was a city before it was an ISD. I believe only those in the proposed area could vote.
