Founded in 1961, H&E provides general rental fleet including aerial work platforms, earthmoving equipment, material handling equipment and other general and specialty lines of equipment.

Shareholders of H&E will receive $92 per share in cash, United said, representing a 109.4% premium to the stock's last close on Monday.

H&E had a habit of leaving equipment they couldn’t fix on the job site for the taking…

Damn! that seems like a monopoly. I remember when H&E got outbid by United when they tried to buy Neff rentals. Got outbid by a mere $200m.

Wonder if the new owner will opt into St George?

That's something. I rent yellow iron from both of those outfits often. Looks like I will need to rent from bottom line equipment more if I want to keep with my Louisiana ties.

Getting fewer and fewer options in this field. Luckily, there are still a few independents/locals still left in this field.

Sometimes a local company gets too big or the client base shites the bed and then sell out to larger companies.

The local owners once they get paid, the former owners themselves or through a relative start a new rental company under a new name. They build their clients back and poach the staff while the business owned by the national company withers on the vine.

The new family business then buys the old businesses land moves back into the same location.

Check out Infinity Rentals or Hugg & Hall. I believe the former is Louisiana owned, unsure on the latter.
But these two give better service than United Rentals could even think about. If you call United outside of business hours, don't expect someone to answer. Which just doesn't work on a 24 hour jobsite.

Never heard of CAT?

If not, Darth will be here shortly to tell you he manages a store like he’s the CEO of Apple

My great uncle made a fine living in the 60s and 70s in sales there. Kinda bittersweet.

Infinity is our customer. Yes they are locally owned by two brothers from Houma area. Both formerly worked for RPM rentals which Hugg and Hall bought out. All the sales guys from RPM left and started their own companies. Infinity, Ironman, etc,. Hugg and Hall is out of Arkansas. They have multiple locations as well. United Rentals is similar to Hertz & Sunbelt in the sense that all of the mechanics they hire are basically just parts changers. They bring their equipment to us when real work needs to be done

I am sure the owners/executives at H&E are highly concerned about their kids in the public school system in BR.

Infinity was loosely what I based my story on in my previous post. I pass by their headquarters every day. They bought the Hugg and Hall's old location after Hugg and Hall shut that location down. They were right next door to each other at the foot of the Bourg Larose Highway in Bourg.

Infinity looks like they are expanding into restroom and portolet rentals too.

had a bunch of Marathon oil stock that I bought a few years a go at about $5/share, it got up in the 20s ands just kind of plateaued,I pretty much forgot about it and was just looking at my account a few weeks ago, ConocoPhillips had bought them and the price was over $100/share
