Absurd mental gymnastics. They are adults. They make their choices. The bars aren't even on LSU's campus.

Why don't they have mandatory closing times for other businesses? Why can Waffle House stay open 24 hours but not a bar?

I don't really care what time a bar closes or not, I hardly ever make it until 2 am (maybe 2-3 times in the past year or more). Pre-Uber you were literally putting ALL of Tigerland on the road all at once. To me, that is a dumb move.

While a good point, these benefits should all be secondary to the fact that a private, legal business should dictate it's own hours.

Period.

I clearly stated "adults make their own choices".

Right, sandwiched between:

AND

staying out until 4 seems like a lot of failing students.

That's why it was mental gymnastics. The only thing that matters is that they are adults and they make their own choices. Tulane and UNO are around tons of bars open later than that primarily cater to those students. Should those bars have their closing time reigned in?

Its ridiculous. They are adults. These are private, legal businesses.

Let them stay open 24 hours. They'll eventually sleep it off.

In college, I saw countless sunrises with a drink still in my hand. And Ole Miss bars closed at 1 and 12 on Saturdays

The logic here is flawed. If the bar stays open until 4am the college kids will just party for 2 hours more and then your in the same boat with 2 more hours of drinking under their belts. Or at least that's what I would have done if bars stayed open until 4 back in the day.

It says that the ABC would be able to pick which bars can serve alcohol till 4am. I’m assuming tigerland would be out

frick no. I’d have died. It was bad enough my drunk arse would drive from Laffy to Maurice every Sunday at midnight

What happens, in my wide experience of drinking all over, is that people just change when they start drinking.

I lived in Miami for 6 years and you wouldn't go out til like midnight

God damn man, 203+ times closing down the bar in a year? I'm not even mad, that's amazing.
