Once again, unless you have a Neilsen Ratings Box (or diary/entry log), you are not hurting them at all.
They are not actually in 300 million homes and aware of everyone's viewing habits. It's just an estimate based one one box, in one home, that records what you watched, that is representative of a region of people.
I often see calls on this board for tv boycotts (sport leagues, tv shows, entire networks, etc..) and nobody seems to have a clue how effective tv boycotts work. If little-to-no Neilsen boxes tune into a show, the ratings go down, which turns away big-money advertisers who want plenty eyeballs, which means less income for the show, which can lead to layoffs/cancellations/bankruptcies.

No tv since 2011? Damn, I can’t imagine how many brain cells you’ve retained. A half hour of this shite and I feel like I was dropped on my head.

Just like Google, Apple, ETC. I'm pretty sure AT&T, Comcast, and others know what's being watched on their boxes although they won't say they know.

I don't get the decision to cancel cops and livepd. Aren't cameras on officers at all times EXACTLY what this movement wants?

The only thing live in my house ever is Disney Jr and HGTV. So looks like I've already been boycotting.

So you watched Live PD to observe the conduct of police officers instead of the pleasure of watching drug addicted and drunk idiots get arrested? You must be fun at parties my man

Who watches that shite anyway?

No, that was what the last round of protests wanted, but that didn't work as most body camera footage and transparency exonerated the cops. This round of protests is all about defunding the police.

A&E has a knack for messing with its most popular shows because of controversy.

I watched LiveTV new episodes weekly when they came out in the beginning.
I stopped watching Live PD when I realized they have a 45 minute delay and it's basically a weekly propaganda show to say "not all cops are bad!"
There was never going to be exposure to the reality that is a-hole cops with a delay and the constant realization that a camera is there. It didn't create a realistic scene; it created one where cops are seen in a blurred, always positive and very unrealistic way.
If a cop had done something questionable it would've never made it to air.
I've always been more of a 'First 48' man myself.

Barely 24 hours later this is showing on Paramount...yes, the same company that canceled Cops which gave A&E cover.
ETA: Bookended by Liberal Al Franken playing a dopey baggage handler in multiple scenes. Oh the irony is rich...
