I don’t give a frick if the intention of the experiment was to show how unicorn farts can get us to Mars and cure cancer. I just want them to stop building more viruses that can potentially get out and kill me and my family.

Apparently there is some misunderstanding here in these reports.
The omicron version killed no mice.
The chimera version killed 80% of mice.
The original Wuhan strain in this experiment killed 100% of mice.
It doesn't appear they created a worse version, at least not yet anyway.

Looks like you've read it. As I understand it, omicron has increased transmissibility. Did that increased transmission ability show in the chimera and make up for it's lesser lethality?

Seemed like I hear fauci tell Rand Paul Wuhan wasn't gain of function because it wasn't 10% lethal. Seems like this meets the gof definition.
