We still haven’t gotten to the bottom of how the first COVID was created and released. Don’t tell me to relax about them fricking with more viruses. I don’t care if it killed 80% of mice. They didn’t know that until AFTER they fricked around with the virus blending a more contagious virus with a more deadly one, yea that sounds like a recipe for a disaster.

I’m pissed because we are acting like we didn’t learn anything from what happened.

Now I’m 100% convinced this is why there is not a lot of evidence of intelligent life in the universe. You progress to the point where you can manipulate life and then you frick around and find out.

I thought gain of function research is illegal? What is the point of all this? All the gain of function research didn’t help us one bit with COVID. Our best response was stay in your home and wear a mask.

Even if what you say is true, they still illegally did gain of function research in America. It should be so fricking illegal because all it takes is one single frick up and you have the apocalypse. At least with nukes you have a chain of command and someone might refuse to oblige orders on that knowing they’re dead anyway and they refuse that should be their legacy. Yes, a bird flu I specifically fear the most. As nervous as I am about nuclear holocaust, Covid perhaps being the most docile virus in that lab does scare me. Honestly threats nuclear war should be on the table for anyone that does gain of function research. With nuclear holocaust, while a shite ton of people will still die, the Southern Hemisphere would mostly survive outside of the immediate supply chain crisis that would create. That’s how much of a threat it is to humanity and has made me think we need to accelerate our space programs to save ourselves from a viral holocaust.
