We still haven’t gotten to the bottom of how the first COVID was created and released. Don’t tell me to relax about them fricking with more viruses. I don’t care if it killed 80% of mice. They didn’t know that until AFTER they fricked around with the virus blending a more contagious virus with a more deadly one, yea that sounds like a recipe for a disaster.
I’m pissed because we are acting like we didn’t learn anything from what happened.
Now I’m 100% convinced this is why there is not a lot of evidence of intelligent life in the universe. You progress to the point where you can manipulate life and then you frick around and find out.

From the abstract- they are also using genetically modified mice that ensure everyone would have the correct receptor. Which also explains in part high mortality in this population. Labs don't just use your typical local rodent.

I thought gain of function research is illegal? What is the point of all this? All the gain of function research didn’t help us one bit with COVID. Our best response was stay in your home and wear a mask.
You can bet whatever research we know about they are doing 10x worse that we don’t know about.
