Why are you at a peaceful protest while armed?
Maybe because the fricking constitution gives us the right to bear arms?

The dude literally had a laser sighted 9mm strapped to his back and got into an altercation with police. Are we really going to pretend this was some peaceful hipster drinking coffee and reading a Charles Dickens novel in the sun and BP/ICE shot him in the face?
This AP article posted yesterday offers some clarity on this point.
AP News
quote:
In a recent conversation with their son, his parents, who live in Colorado, told him to be careful when protesting. We had this discussion with him two weeks ago or so, you know, that go ahead and protest, but do not engage, do not do anything stupid, basically,” Michael Pretti said. “And he said he knows that. He knew that.”
quote:
Family members said Pretti owned a handgun and had a permit to carry a concealed handgun in Minnesota. They said they had never known him to carry it.
quote:
Pretti’s ex-wife, who spoke to the AP but later said she didn’t want her name used, said she was not surprised he would have been involved in protesting Trump’s immigration crackdown. She said she had not spoken to him since they divorced more than two years ago and she moved to another state.
quote:
She said he was a Democratic voter and that he had participated in the wave of street protests following the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer in 2020, not far from the couple’s neighborhood. She described him a someone who might shout at law enforcement officers at a protest, but she had never known him to be physically confrontational.

When you show one, where does it end? Those officers are just supposed to assume "welp, that's it, situation diffused" after seeing a gun like that on this dude?
Isn't there a wide gap between doing nothing and killing him?

hard to argue he's impeding something, if his positioning, in relation to the actual operation, shows otherwise...
He got in the middle of an officer and the while making contact with the officer.
As I said before, go do that to a federal officer, a state trooper, or a local sheriff, and let me know how it goes for you.

Kyle wasn't interfering with a law enforcement operation

Stop acting like 30 minutes transpired between when the gun was removed and when he was shot. It was 5-10 seconds at most.
I’m not? It’s not like he dropped it. The officers removed it themselves.
quote:
And in what reality are those idiot officers going to assume, in that time frame that he is "fully disarmed". Who is to say he didn't have multiple weapons?
You don’t assume anything. You do your job and find out.

I don’t even know what you’re arguing here.
You realize they shot him in the back of the head after this, right? Like what are you even suggesting?

No chance. It was 1-2 seconds in real time. I’m fairly confident that the first shot you hear is Pretti’s gun misfiring as the agent disarmed him.

You just keep missing the point entirely.
You're arguing a very anti-protestor argument.

He had a gun, the gun became visible.
do you think the gun would have ever become visibile has he not been assaulted? b/c, IMO, the guy had the gun on him, but it was for his own protection, not to commit an atrocity.... if he intended on killing ICE agents, why did he never brandish the weapon in the first place? or why would he actively instigate them to draw them even closer and possibly incapacitate/overwhelm, as they did, and he couldn't use the weapon anyway? seems like if he was going there to shoot some ICE officers, he would have done that when he was on the sidewalk with a clear line of sight, with a clear shot on any of the agents, and yet, when he was in that position, the only thing in his hand was his phone....

Calm down dude. It was a simple legal question. It's not like I insulted EVs or anything. You cry like a big gay baby in those threads.

Kyle should've been shot in the face by that pedophile dude. No one brings a gun to a peaceful protest.

Do you not know the difference between the confront and impede? If you post your address I’ll mail you a dictionary.
