you post this as if it's relevant whatsoever. Are you saying sidewalks are outside of the jurisdiction of ICE?

You're an idiot and prove it every time you debate.

confronting law enforcement

the only person "confronting" law enforcement was the woman... he jumped in between the woman and officer, as any decent man would do when they see a woman accosted... for some of us, that's a pretty regular response, when you see someone put hands on a woman... try to defend the weaker sex, which is what this guy did... i have no doubt it was just an instinct response, but he paid for it with his life in the end...

I can say LEO was wrong and I can say it was also wrong for this dude to bring a weapon into this situation.

I agree with you completely on this and I would definitely have not have done what the guy did.

But he didn't bring a weapon into this situation. He brought a weapon to the protests but he kept it concealed and never used it or threatened to use it.

For all intents and purposes noone wouldve ever known he even had a weapon if not for the actions of the officers.

confronting law enforcement while carrying out operations is absolutely illegal.

No it is not. It’s only illegal to impede.

When the hell did I ever say that wasn't legal?

He shouldn't have put himself into the middle of the situation. Period.

Waltz, Fray, and the police chief shouldn't have stoked the flames that caused this.

and you're the one who said "he shouldn't have been in the road". It was a stupid as shite statement to make and you should own up to it.

And if he hadn't interjected himself into the situation, that would still be the case.

It's funny how the people who killed a person who posed no threat (after starting the incident having nothing to do with their stated mission) get every benefit of the doubt, including the rushed timeline/chaos, and the guy who was killed, didn't start it, and never acted as a threat, doesn't

As a citizen, bringing a gun into a situation that you know is near a boiling point, that had already reached beyond that with the Goode situation and hiding behind that as "your right" is fricking nonsense.

do you extend this same sentiment to Rittenhouse, just curious... i really don't feel like digging through your post history to get to the truth about how you characterized that situation, so if you could just be honest here, that would save me some time and effort

quote:

Again, if this was a "peaceful protest" and this guy is "just an innocent bystander", why the frick did he have a laser sighted weapon strapped to his back?

again, are we going to allow citizens to freely exercise their 2nd amendment rights or not? if you want to modify the 2nd amendment, then let's do it... but he either has his right under 2A or not.... can't play this both ways

quote:

My point is multiple really, really bad decisions were made here that resulted in an outcome, however terrible, that any reasonable person would expect there to be a high probability of given the circumstances.

all of this i do tend to agree with... i'd love to see more empathy and reason from my fellow Americans (not singling you out, at all, so please don't take it that way, more talking about the people in the situation in MN), but i guess we've sort of crossed the Rubicon on that

Maybe it's already been discussed but isn't the defense of this guy, the same way that prosecutors tried to charge Rittenhouse? Why are you at a peaceful protest while armed? Why can't I be? So on and so forth?

Semantics man.

He had a gun, the gun became visible.

If he had not had a gun, would the situation have played out the way it did?

Probably not.

I'm sorry but you won't ever convince me that a laser sighted Sig Sauer, however concealed and "peaceful" protesting are one in the same.

Not really, because he didn’t even have the gun on him when he was shot

I never imagined there would be a defense of this situation, I still don’t even know what it is other than “you got beat up by 6 dudes incorrectly and we scared ourselves and shot you in the back of the head, oopsie”

Did the threat ever even start? One man on his knees disarmed being prison pummeled - not a threat anymore, if he ever was.
As someone who knows of multiple instances where a person being detained by multiple officers isn’t truly considered no threat until in cuffs and completely apprehended, yes, there was still a perceived threat.

Even unarmed people can be a deadly threat to an officer who is armed. Look up Vicki Wax… who was murdered over $30 worth of Walmart items when she tried to stop him at the exit. He was unarmed. Until he wasnt.

you post this as if it's relevant whatsoever

the distance maintained is actually VERY relevant, as it shows reasonable space was given to the operation being carried out, vs. what they claim he was doing which was "impeding" an official ICE operation...

hard to argue he's impeding something, if his positioning, in relation to the actual operation, shows otherwise...

And, that shows a preference for a political-based policy and not one in maximizing detentions and deportations.

It shows a preference for a policy that addresses one the major consequences of Biden’s unlawful border policy and not one that magnifies the issue given the reality of leftist governments refusal to enforce the law.

Stop acting like 30 minutes transpired between when the gun was removed and when he was shot.

It was 5-10 seconds at most.

And in what reality are those idiot officers going to assume, in that time frame that he is "fully disarmed". Who is to say he didn't have multiple weapons?

When you show one, where does it end? Those officers are just supposed to assume "welp, that's it, situation diffused" after seeing a gun like that on this dude?
