Not boomer, but noticed Millennials and everyone after love to blame everyone else for all their problems.

Nobody thinks that. Excellent example of a strawman argument though.

People who constantly blame others for their weaknesses and failures are tiring. Every group that does this is lame and soft.
We took advantage of the opportunities and freedoms that this country provided, and we worked our asses off to be successful. We weren't given anything; we earned it. Take a real look around. Do you honestly see that drive in your group?
Are you missing something?
Yes, a mirror.

Im not a boomer or millenial. But young people are rightly pissed off about not being able to move out of their parents house until they are 25. The economy does not work for most of them. Entry level jobs do not buy entry level homes anymore. And then those young people hear about how it was when the boomers were their age, and they get pissed.

You’re not complaining about me being retired after working 60-80 hours a week for 40 years right? Quit complaining. Go to work. Live within your means. Quit whining. It’s your turn. We’re passing the baton. Don’t drop it. Run with it. Get off my lawn.

They absolutely have that right, but when did entry level jobs ever immediately provided enough income to buy a home? I'm Gen X and most had to live in an apartment to save up to buy first. A lot has to do with choice of college major ( Art History/English/Sociology/etc) or refusal to get secondary education be it college or trade school.

When did you graduate high school? I graduated right around 2000.
Median home price in my day was 120k.
In 1975 the median home price was 40k.
In 2025, do you want to guess how much the median home price is?

Yall took the momentum of WW2 and elected a government that thought it meant that because your parents saved the world from the nazis that you were righteous in whatever you chose to do. Just years and years of wars and debt.
Boomers fought in Vietnam, they certainly didn't start it. Or Korea.
Boomers hated Vietnam or have you never heard of the protests in the 1960s against the war?
That elected government back then? Very few boomers were old enough to vote to elect those people in.

We will pass more wealth to this generation than has ever been passed before, by any generation, in history.
We also donate more than any other generation ever.
Unfortunately, this is not always a good thing.

quote:Couple of contributing factors come to mind-
Your divorce rates are high as frick.
Boomers were raised by folks who had either or both on their resumes:
The Great Depression
World War Two
Them experiencing these events impacted their child raising capacity and effectiveness.
Additionally, social changes (mores is particular) from 1960 to 1970 were the greatest modification in the history of America in only one decade. Divorce and pre-marital sex were “decriminalized”. Women could now be in charge of their own birth control. All these changes echoed through the Boomers’ lives since.
Additionally, folks moved postwar much more away from the towns they were raised in. Less support systems.
GI Bill- More College-educated folks, more disposable income, more leisure time = chances to cheat/divorce.
Not excuses: but reasons.
PS: Personally, as a Boomer, I didn’t get bit by divorce. Parents married right after the War ended and stayed married until one died after 40+ years of marriage. I’ve been married over 40 years as well now.

Because they are weak and entitled.

Oprah definitely had an effect on those who came after. Victimization is better than cash, these days.
This is the heart of the matter but those who didn’t see it unfold will never understand. Beginning in the mid-80’s, Daytime TV led to systemic victimization, participation trophies, and the whole “forget about thousands of years of parenting experience and best practices - your little Timmy should never be punished or corrected, the only problems he has are someone else’s fault”
Which led to a very soft generation who had their own offspring and whose idea of ‘parenting’ is sticking an iPad in their kids’ hands because actively raising children is just too much work. Miss Rachel has more to do with the kids’ formative years then their parents.

Im Gen X.
A Boomer has never taken my job. A Boomer has never taken money from my bank account. A Boomer has never told me how to spend my money or what I can or can't afford.
But keep blaming the Boomer Boogeyman for your shortcomings.

The hate for boomers is one of the dumbest things that you have picked up from the media
I've always admired that generation as a working generation. It seems that the one thing they heard their parents worry about was retirement stability. Pensions, SS, and Medicare, etc. For the longest time I understood their message. We worked all our lives, we should live out our golden years knowing I have income and health benefits. But where they lost me was this most recent bullshite where Govt employees were paid a pension with tax payer dollars, now they want SS too, which me and my employer are contributing over 20k a year to, and and some point either me or my kids won't be able to recoup.
How much more do they need?

The problems started before the boomers but it’s fun to blame them for everything because they get so mad

Can you give a link to this story? I have a pension thru a govt job. Myself and my employer both put money into it each month (7% on my side). In addition to that I pay into social security and so do they. I rightfully expect both my pension and social security.
