They lived the majority of their lives listening to propaganda put out by by the govt that said things like red meat and eggs are bad for you and special k cereal is healthy

True.
They lost on the concept that 'if you go to the podiatrist, they'll find something wrong with your foot'
The blind trust put in Big-Pharma is wild.
Also wild is the constant barrage of Pharma commercials advertising a pill to fix whatever side effect the other handful of pill you are on causes.
Also the idea of a 'topper pill' to go on top of whatever pill you are on thats not working.

It's not.
If you ever worked in an office with boomers and somehow became the default IT guy because you knew the basics of working a computer and phone.
Never forget the days when boomers didn't understand how to save a pdf off their email.
So what they would to is print a 200 page document then use the same copier printer to scan the entire document back in so it would get sent to their email.
Then they'd all rage when the email server bogged down trying to send a gigantic 7Gb document that they scanned in.
Had one that somehow thought Google Maps satellite view was a live feed. They'd go on there and look at google maps to see if someone's car was in the parking lot.
[looks on google maps] "Oh no they left for the day, I don't see their car out there"

This board is a boomer love fest lately. Any anti boomer post gets obliterated in downvotes. Thanks for doing the Lord’s work

You must be a miserable person to be this bothered and judgmental over that.
I live my life and let my in-laws live their lives.
And you are wrong on one account. Yogurt is soothing for your stomach. and contains probiotics.

Boomers shouldn't be allowed on the internet by default, and should be forced to take the equivalent of an annual driving test in order to allowed access each year. This is for their own good to stop them from being scammed, etc.

You whiners, complain all the time that the boomers have all the money, and you guys are never going to be able to get anywhere in life.Well, you ever thought maybe they have all the money because they go to the shitty chain restaurants, and you and your wife and kids waste a shite ton of money ordering out 100.00 dollar a plate "real food" dinners and 10.00 dollar coffees for breakfast with your 20.00 acai bowl?
My parents are in their mid eighties, and i'm just glad they're eating, because ...number one they're still here.and number two, they're getting so skinny they worry me.
I know more people your age with cancer then our age with cancer... Find something else to worry about.

OP probably got like two hundred and fifty covid shots and thinks he's a genius.

AND YES, I AM YELLING AT YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

There are some oddities in this situation, but they may not be the ones you think.
Outside of the orange juice it depends on exact reasoning behind upset stomach. If it’s due to not eating and being acidy from that I have never had a problem eating yogurt especially the high protein versions. If its like nausea or diarrhea from some stomach bug and/or being lactose intolerant or some other issue with milk sugars or milk proteins while having those stomach issues than they should avoid it until symptoms stop.
It can also depend on the strains of probiotics as some can help aid digestion and lower inflammation in intestine. One strain is said to help with diarrhea, but I don’t know accuracy of that or if your mother-in-law is picking yogurt for specific probiotics.
Have either of you bothered to check into this?
Again the drinking of orange juice with any kind of stomach issue I don’t get.
Are they blowing thru your expected inheritance???
quote:Did either of you attempt to explain this to them?
Is this not something they learned? My in laws thinks my wife works out to lose weight.
She's a healthy weight and lifts to maintain body/muscle and it's good for her mental health.
quote:Did either of you attempted to have a conversation with them to find out what they know about liquids and calories?
Another example, we're convinced they don't understand that liquids have calories. Stuff like that just blows our mind.

Her mother will have an upset stomach and wants to eat yogurt and drink orange juice for breakfast and we're sitting there saying "those items aren't good to have with an upset stomach."

They love shitty chain restaurants when they do dine out. Of all the places in the world out there that are excellent but they'll go to a Red Lobster or places like that.

Honor your parents so your days may be long.
Why the hate for your own parents and in-laws? Karma bites hard.

Them not caring about what they ate almost certainly expedited or even created their degraded state of no appetite.

Boomers are terrible. I am terrible. I have to take medications. I hate taking medication because I can no longer survive on my own.
