I guess it was the time travel aspect, mixed with historical fiction.

IT is a great Stephen King book. I've read it several times.

i like books like that too. My favorite is the outlander series (now on starz). It's kinda girly but it's got a lot of war and guts too. Scotland 1770s and England 1940s
