Rereading the Mysterious Island by Jules Verne

That book sounds pretty good. I wonder if the tv show Lost took from it.

Has anyone read any of Erik Larson's other books? I tried reading Thunderstruck, but I just couldn't get into it like I did with Devil in the White City.

One of my favorite books. My son read it for his English class last Fall...it reminded me of how much I love that book.

I'm reading The Foul Mouth and the Mancy Martial Artist by Richard Raley. It is book 5 in the King Henry Tapes series. Sometimes I just need to read something silly.

Read that a couple summers ago. That shite is amazing and so worth the time. I remember it was really long though, but still worth it nonetheless.
Easily one of my favorite Stephen King books. Maybe the favorite. It drags a little in the middle, but his first few trips back are so, so good.

Fixing to start Devil in the White City, which I've heard much about.

DITWC is a fantastic read. I finished on my way to vacation in NYC so i made it a point to go see a lot of Fred Olmstead's work there.

i average somewhere between 30-50 books a year and that was my favorite so far in a year. Looking forward to grabbing in the Gardens of Beasts soon.

I just started reading Natchez Burning as well. How far into it are you? I think I'm about 350 pages into it. I agree with what you're saying about being torn, but I like the story and have read all of his other books so I will read the whole thing

ummm... 300 or so pages? i got about 100 into it and forgot it for a flight and picked up the Martian and Flynn and Thor book and read them in between. i just started back at it.

I'm thinking reading another Stephen King book since I liked 11-22-63 so much. That was the first King book I've ever read. Any recommendations?

This book is unlike any other book of his. Just FYI. What did you like about it? Time travel?

I liked Mr. Mercedes a lot. Not a typical King book and there's nothing supernatural in it. He just released a sequel to it (Finders Keepers) that was pretty good. And there's a third one coming.

Definitely make reading The Stand and It priorities if you never read them.
