Bogusa is a great small town. Glad they have one thing that brings in people to visit.

Two baws from Bogalusa lived next door to me in my freshman dorm. They took off from school the week of the Washington Parish Free Fair.

What makes it great?
From my memories, it’s a grade A shithole

Asking bout the festival, not the city.

My man my advice is to stay the hell out of Bogalusa at all cost. No matter how amazing this festival is is there’s no chance I would go

My grandmother was from Bogalusa. Spent a lot of time there.

“There’s a girl from Bogalusa, she’s tough, tough, tough...”
No thanks on visiting BogalUSA.

Bogoslavia is a great place.
Nice fair. Good watermelon.
Quiet little sleepy town where the sheriff knows everyone’s name. Just like Andy Griffith.

When you go to Bogalusa, you either make a friend or make a fight.

I hear good things about the festival.
The town is a textbook case of what happens to small towns under bad leadership.
Population went from @30,000 to only @ 12,000 now. The socio economic picture is bleak.
The mayor actually reached out to the state for help because the city’s fiscal issues are so bad. They have a pension that is overwhelmingly underfunded. I’d expect the city to declare bankruptcy sometime in the next 5 years

Bogalusa actually has very strong musical roots with Studio in the Country being located not far from downtown.
Numerous multi-platinum records were recorded at Studio in the Country, including classic albums by Kansas such as Leftoverture and Point of Know Return, each of which contained hits – "Carry On Wayward Son" (which reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100) on the former and Top 10 single "Dust in the Wind" on the latter. Other platinum albums from Studio in the Country include Save His Soul by Blues Traveler, Smells Like Children by Marilyn Manson, Boats, Beaches, Bars and Ballads by Jimmy Buffett Heartbreak Station by Cinderella, and the 11x platinum Dirty Dancing soundtrack.

Pretty sure you are referring to Franklinton. That's where the Washington Parish Fair is held.
Bogalusa is a pot-hole infested shithole.

I was responding to the guy who said it's a great little town. It's not.
I've heard good things about the festival.

I bet the blues is not music related

yes, wait a week and head to Clarksdale for the Sunflower River Blues festival.
Bogalusa may be the only place on earth that can make Clarksdale seem like a nice place in comparison.

This is the 8th year for the festival. I love the fest. Bring a chair and have a cold beer, some delicious food and enjoy some great music. You can even bring a camper or a tent.
