I speak from experience of living in the parish. Bogalusa itself is a scourge on society. With that being said, the festival is a pleasant surprise. This years lineup of Band of Heathens, Eric Gales and Paul Thorn is strong. As long as you don't have to stay in one of the crack hotels in town it's worth riding in from an hour away and enjoying the music. It's a well run festival.

Been a couple of times. Nice venue for Festival (the park).
Miserable when it’s hot...bring shade.

Two stages. Usually some great music. Relaxed crowd.

Worst part is hotel accommodations....there are none. We stayed in Columbia, MS and MS HP set up a road block at state line. Just FYI.

Two baws from Bogalusa lived next door to me in my freshman dorm. They took off from school the week of the Washington Parish Free Fair.

Is it still the biggest free fair in the country?

I love small towns. Even kinda shitty small towns. That said, Bogalusa is suicide-inducing.
