Surely you can’t be serious…

CNBC
quote:

Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun will step down at the end of 2024 in part of a broad management shakeup for the embattled aerospace giant. Chairman of the board Larry Kellner is also stepping down, and Stan Deal, CEO of the commercial airplane unit, is out effective immediately. Boeing executives have faced increasing scrutiny from regulators and customers over quality control problems.

Is this the guy who, in the wake of all the safety problems Boeing has faced, makes a speech talking about diversity ?
Yea…it’s time for him to go !

Imagine being so protected that even if you’re absolutely horrible at your job, you get to “step down” from it nine months from now as opposed to showing up and no longer having access to the building and network.

The protection is for the company and stock price, not that dude. But yeah, pretty amazing how once you get into certain clubs, you're rewarded handsomely even if you're a complete frickup.

He'll probably even get another CEO gig somewhere since he's "an experienced CEO that comes from Boeing" (never mind the fact that his experience was as a piss poor CEO).

Replacing a CEO is not exactly a two week notice training type of gig. This is more likely an indication they are bringing in someone from outside the top 5 or so executives at Boeing or they don’t know who they are hiring.

Parachutes are always a good idea when flying Boeing.

Nice gig.

Have pilots and engineers calling the shots and the problems will be fixed.

Every company, and especially a company like Boeing has an executive succession plan. They’re not going to take 9 months finding someone to fill his role if he drops dead tomorrow. They’d slide an interim in who is already in the C suite.

Its not like it's November. Takin' 9 months to find a replacement part sounds like something this company would do.

I work for a major Accounting & Consulting firm and I can 100% assure you that your statement is completely wrong. All of my clients are in the Fortune 500. Part of my job is assessing financial internal controls, with a big one being succession plans. I am shocked if a company not only has them in place, but if they are actually effective.

You're greatly over-estimating this
