You gotta take these comments with a grain of salt. Boeing has lots of labor issues, and labor is stupid enough to make asinine comments jeopardizing the employment of its members. Boeing machinists in Everett are going to wake up one day and find their jobs have been moved to right to work Kansas, Alabama, and South Carolina.

Boeing - lets costs and bottom lines come before the quality of the product, tries to skirt federal regulations egregiously.
OT - spends entire thread talking about race and diversity.

And yet US pilots don't seem to have a huge issue with them. I think I'd trust the people that have to fly them.
You realize hundreds of people have died in that thing, right? And that the problem is a computer that specifically ignores the pilot's input? If you really think Muh US Pilots would never wreck one of these things, you need to get out more.

I take exception to that, perhaps you should get out more.

Why isn’t the FAA getting more heat on this disaster?

I'm not saying US pilots aren't the best. I'm saying, "durr, let's make a plane that works fine as long as the pilots are really, really good" is a terrible decision.
That's the exact opposite of how anything should be designed. The fact that US pilots were apparently able to fly the thing (in the extremely limited time it was allowed to fly) does less than nothing to excuse this crap.

Well... that computer can be turned off and all the pilot has to do is recognize the situation and disable it. Those foreign pilots fought the stick right into the ground/ocean. A better trained pilot would have recognized and corrected the issue instead of riding it down.

The Indonesian Max had an issue on the last leg back to Jakarta the previous night. The CA disengaged the Auto Throttle, AP, trimmed the plane manually, and flew the plane to Jakarta without incident.

Go through all the emails and texts of any large company and you will find similar comments.
Not saying they are not true but I have not seen the monkeys.

Their focus is own diversity and hiring women and minorities per their own board. Not designing airplanes and rockets that fly.
I’m against racial quotas, but we don’t know for a fact that female and minority incompetence is to blame here, nor do we know that the system was designed by them either.

Boeing went cheap. Instead of designing a new plane, they slapped awkward arse engines on an old model out of Airbus fear. They deserve everything coming to them.

Surprised this didn't get a whole lotta love. Pointed, clever, and funny.

Every suboptimal hiring decision to “diversify” has to do with this.
They should make their planes all rubber and change their name to boing.
Yeah, b/c hiring a few more people of color is why the the bean counters and execs decided to say frick safety we aren't telling anyone about how this new plane's design sucks arse b/c it will hurt sales. Sure sure sure sure sure. Makes total sense.

This is exactly it. Every decision since the early to mid 2010s revolved around pleasing Wall Street. Their stock soared as a result, but now we are seeing what taking shortcuts does.
