Went to Beau Rivage to see Tom Segura do stand-up last year. We did not know it was Black Beach Week, but found out the last couple miles driving to the casino. Outstanding people watching.

Our regions Key club scheduled some convention in Biloxi on the same weekend as black spring break 2000.

Black Spring Break has crossed the bridge into Jackson County. There are now unofficial "official" events in Moss Point, which is no surprise, but a downtown Ocean Springs bar hosting some parties is certainly a new development.

Because I'm not touching it.
Here's what it did:
Black Spring Break, it's that time of year
When the coastlines fill with endless cheer
But with every party and celebration
Comes destruction and devastation
Drunk, rowdy crowds flood the streets
Leaving behind trashed-up concrete
Windows broken, cars overturned
The aftermath of what they've earned
Beaches once so tranquil and serene
Are now littered with debris and obscene
Alcohol bottles, garbage galore
The once-clean sand, now nothing more
Police sirens pierce the hot night air
As chaos spreads, without a care
Arrests are made, but too little too late
The damage is done; now it's too great
Black Spring Break, is it worth the price?
The devastation and heartache, is it nice?
Let's think twice before we act
And preserve the beauty, we all attract.
