One of my buddies just completed his PhD in Astrophysics... He just moved to Europe to study movement of stars or something badass like that. So awesome.

Are you really claiming to be smarter than Stephen Hawking?
No, you ignorant moron.
I'm claiming that among his peers, astrophysicists, he isn't anywhere near the top of the game.

Me no expert either...
I do however find it all VERY interesting...
Same here. That's why this article caught my eye.

So awesome.
I had an opportunity to go work at the collider near Chicago. But baseball > math.

You should also mention Hawking always goes back and corrects his own work. He has proved himself wrong on just about everything he has claimed over his career. I give him kudos for that, though. Takes a man to come out over and over and admit he was wrong.

This thread seems to have really bothered you. Here, put this on your table and see if that helps calm you down....

She claims that as a star dies, it releases a type of radiation known as Hawking radiation - predicted by Professor Stephen Hawking.
I'm sorry but how can one claim something that cannot be verified?
Posted on 9/25/14 at 12:43 pm to Darth_Vader
Of course they exist, and I don't need the Hubble telescope to show me one:

This is interesting. I mean clearly there are quite a few variables and I'd want other leading thinkers on the subject to chime in with their thoughts and analysis, but so far... Gotta say, I think I'd hit it.
I bit so hard on this until the last sentence. Very well played.

Scientist claims she has mathematical proof black holes cannot exist
Well how could she discover that in the kitchen?

Seems to me like belief in black holes is faith based. How am I wrong on that?
Anyway, I'm here for the science part. I've always had interest in the stars.
Eta: yes I think black holes exist, I'm just making a point
