How many dollar generals does one have to go to in order to save $100?

I tried this on, hinting to my wife that our 20th anniversary is in three weeks. I’ve always wanted this watch.

It was $5600

I like Breitling. I know some people think they are cheeseballs but IDC and I have 3 in my collection

...and yes like gaudy oversized watches

No and never said I was better. I said I would never pay that much for a watch. Key word in my statement is I.

I can now say the answer is 2. Very close to being 1.

19 cards at one, drove a couple miles to get another one. All within a few miles of my house. All done for the day.

I actually don’t like oversized watches. The first one in my post was 40mm (if I remember correctly). I’d like it in about a 38mm

Both watches look no different than a $100 watch from a department store.

Well, the second one was only $45, so suck it.

I don't go under 42MM if I can. Just a preference.

That Avenger Hurricane I posted with the yellow is 50MM and gaudy as hell. I was drinking in Vegas and a fellow OT poster convinced me to buy it but there are only 250 of them made so it's kind of cool to have.

FWIW mine is number 69 of 250

Fitness tracking and the Samsung watches are better looking than Rolex anyhow.

I am definitely into luxe fashion but watches just don't register for me (or more importantly... for women in my desired age ranges). Would much rather spend that kind of money on furniture or upgrades

Yes, you called attention to yourself in opposition to people in a thread discussing watches that do fist that much. It’s weird. No one cares whether you wouldn’t do so. Why make the statement?

Any more than that and I'm not sure it would be worth it.

You mean the women rolling around with $5k Louis Vuitton bags and $1k Christian Louboutin shoes? Or the ones who want to be?

Because they definitely notice watches.

Think you’ve been hanging out in Portland too long.

Watched ceased being strictly utilitarian at least a century ago. So how long have you been alive, Gramps?

I’ve never really cared for watches. I probably couldn’t tell a fossil watch from a very expensive watch if the names weren’t on them. I’ve never really liked any kind of jewelry. I rarely even wear my wedding ring unless I’m going to a wedding or out to eat fancy.
