It’s hard to hear but in the first part of the video the father asks “why did you say that word” and the man replied “I don’t know why I did” and then tried to make an excuse for it. Did anyone actually watch the video?

That's what he was pretty much saying.
If one of you were in a store with your young son and an employee calls him a "stupid little shite" or something like that, yall would fly off the handle while your kid watches and thinks "that's how you handle situations when someone calls you a name".

Hardly anyone is racist, imo. I think nearly everyone is prejudice, and I think stereotypes exist for a reason. I wasn't trying to call anyone racist. Rather I was pointing to the fact that many people here seek out info that confirms their bias. It's lazy.

I am very much moved by this video. The father believes that Homer used a racial slur against his son. I agree with those posting that there is no video proof that this happened, and perhaps it did not happen, but there is some suggestion that others heard what the father was told was said. The fact is that the father believes that a racial slur was used against his son. Rather than going ballistic, as many would do, he approached Homer and had a reasonable conversation with him. It is clear that this is a man of peace who is trying to be a good person and to be a good role model for his son.

I would think the old man would have said "sir, I didn't use any racial slurs to your kid. This is what happened ___________". If the old man didn't do it and just listened to what the dad was saying then he is a bitch.
