Hadn't seen any crypto threads on the OT in a while. I guess a 60% drop keeps those muted for a while.
TD drove the crypto group to a different forum.
Chicken wants all crypto threads in the stickied thread on the MT board.

Because the threads are on the correct board, aka Money Talk
Booo.
They're on the OT when Bitcoin is up 5000%, so I think this place can handle a conversation when things get dicey for a bit.

Now you have just a fraction of the thread/post volume on the subject over on Money Talk, with most of the educated people not wasting their time with contributing anymore.
TD drove the crypto group to a different forum.

Bitcoin up 5% since you started this thread.
In that case, shall I start another?

Chicken got really annoyed with crypto taking over the MB when BTC was pushing $20k
then there was the whole "pump and dump" controversy that basically killed all the crypto talk to the one big stickied thread

Seriously?
I completely missed the pump and dump scheme. I tend to avoid the MB because most folks are trying to get rich quick there, but I'm bummed I missed the controversy.

And it's laughable people actually think the crypto folks on TD even remotely have the ability to influence currency values
Even the smallest ones they were "pumping" had thousands of transactions a day.
In any case, I'm just letting it ride. I pulled out my initial investment long ago and just playing with pure profit now.

there was a pretty entertaining thread on the help board re: the "pump and dump" scheme

You guys were conspiring on Telegram to pump and dump an altcoin at the expense of TD.com users that were not in your Telegram group. You defrauded the users of this website for your own monetary gain and Chicken should ban all of you for it.

Which was the most idiotic part of that entire situation.
Even glossing over some noob misunderstanding and starting the rumor.

Bitcoin down more than 60% in the last month and a half
It has been quite the fall though.

All the bitcoin and crypto fan boys were going on here telling us how great this was. They can't see that governments will not allow currency to be unregulated or decentralized. Then many were on here stating the dollar is a shite currency that is backed by nothing ,but could not see the irony in posting bitcoin is worth over like over 10,000... I have called this a bubble ,but it is looking more like a pump and dump that will keep happening.

That it has. Regulation and/or the fear of regulation has been a doozy.
