I have tried everything to keep the bastards out of the bird feeder. It just takes one outlier smart squirrel to ruin everything. The latest can’t miss option was a slinky that was supposed to trip up the squirrels as they made their way to cage. It work for a few hours.

I've used this style before (but not exactly like this one) and it really works. It has a lid over the seed that closes when something too heavy sits on the perch.

Try using safflower seeds...squirrels don't like them, but birds do

Nephew just built anti squirrel feeders for a school project.
Feeder is attached to top of a thick wood stake. They then fit an 18” piece of pvc pipe over the stake, attaching the pvc to elastic bands attached to the top of the stake.
When squirrel climbs on from bottom, he is catapulted Off the feeder or deterred from getting on due to the instability.

When I was a kid my mom had a shitload of feeders. We tried all the squirrel proof shite. None of them really worked. They were out of control. Then they started fricking up some of my moms plants and she gave in. My dad and I went and got a crack barrel pellet rifle with a scope and killed 70 in one year. They got the hint.

Squirrel Buster Plus is the way and the truth. Things are 90 bucks, which is insane for a damn birdfeeder, but Ive had one for 10 years now and the little cocksuckers still cant get into it. Almost 3k reviews on Amazon @ 4.5 stars.

I use a Henry lever action 17 caliber with a scope.

But I eat squirrels.

If you don’t have any trees close and over the feeder, one of those cones does the trick for me.

Hot pepper flakes. Birds don’t feel the effects of hot or spicy seeds.

I do battle with the little buggers all the time.

We are building a house and when we move I’m buying this:
Roller Feeder

I shoot them off my feeders now with a Red Ryder B.B. gun. Just startles them. Until we move can’t use anything stronger due to neighbors.

Edit: some squirrels eat the spicy. Doesn’t work.
Air soft sounds good. But doubt they never come back. BBs don’t keep them away for long.
