Them peanuts for risking your life everyday.
And we wonder why cops are incompetent at times, no competent man would work for that.

That's not uncommon for a family plan on PPO(very low out of pocket, copays and stuff).
Whatever you say. That’s extremely high IMO

$445 for insurance a week? He must have wife and like 3 or 4 kids. I have a wife and 2 kids and dont pay anywhere near that for Blue Cross. That's crazy.
But, I dont understand the bitching about how much they're making when you can go look it up before even deciding to apply for the job. It has been well known for a while now that public servants make shite money but the benefits are outstanding.
I was a firefighter in my younger days. Started out just loving the job but then hated it and hung around for the benefits. That "other" column is probably money put into his pension fund. Which, I guarantee is a pretty nice little setup. It was in AL for sure.

What I learned from this is that his employer needs to negotiate a new health plan for their employees.

Ok, but what does the pension plan look like?

On one hand, I would hope that's the cost for a whole family, but on the other, I would hope someone with a wife and kids isn't happy making $16.42/hour and would want to find a new job.
Agreed. Everyone who bitches about their job sounds dumb to me. If you don’t like your job or your pay, do something about it. Find another job with higher pay. Loyalty screws the employee.

And we wonder why so many cops are incompetent? I've said for years that LEOs should be high paying jobs held to extremely high standards.

That's every two weeks but still high as frick for a group plan.
$900.00 a month and the company should be paying 2/3'rds

Lol I have a family of four, and thanks to Obamacare BlueCross low deductible I am paying $1600.00 a Month. It's insanity. 10 Years ago a family of four with same plan would pay around $800.00.

Public employee NEVER consider the absurd benefits they receive (relative to the private sector) when they are CONSTANTLY bitching about "low pay". Such benefits are completely unsustainable and crushing cities/municipalities all over the country. But don't let that little secret get in the way of the perpetual belly-aching and self-aggrandizing
