Yep. Just trying to tell you to save your breath.

I just hate seeing that level of ignorance go unaddressed, it goes against my nature. I was a TA for years as a student and I had to fight a lot of that type of thinking in my classes.

Evolution itself is insignificant in the grand scheme of creationism. I respect your arguments, but they are ultimately as unsubstantiated as other creationist theories, such as intelligent design. Your criticism of supposed ignorance is unbecoming and foolish. Your theory makes inexplicable assumptions just as do those you criticize

Believe me, I know. I have degrees in biology and law and have a hard time avoiding arguments about evolution. People like beejon aren't looking for answers. It's just sophistry.

No, they are not.
Intelligent design is a faith based proposition that has no place in the classroom. I have no qualm with belief in God, I myself believe in a higher power for reasons that have nothing to do with science. I have no problem saying that, if God created everything, he used natural laws that he is almost certainly not bound by and very likely created. Why the idea of God using evolution offends anyone except the most staunch of biblical literalists, I do not know. As long as you can get by the Adam and Eve/Fall of man bit it really isn't hard.
My overall point is this: If you believe in a creator God, but NOT evolution and old earth science, you HAVE to believe that God is deceitful whether you realize it or not. The evidence he has presented us with with says one thing but he did another, so they claim. It is incompatable with any view of God I'm aware of.

To me, the sticking point in reconciling darwinian evolution and creationism is that this would mean God, instead of creating a mature and diverse planet, would have done the most inefficient and inhumane thing ever: start with a single organism and over millions of years and trillions of corpses, arrived at the current version of man. That a good, loving and all-powerful God would choose this is far-fetched to me.

What ignorance for a completely unsubstantiated belief in a myth. I will say your gaudy arrogance is impressive

Nothing could even remotely be further from the truth.

Seven days of creation
All the sevens of revelation (seven churches, seven seals, seven plagues, etc.)
I think it's supposed to represent perfection or something like that. I admittedly am a little rusty on my theology

Its so much deeper than that bro. Will remove any doubt that the scriptures, in their original Hebrew, are not from man.
The problem millions or maybe billions have is they misinterpret the original Hebrew. Everything has such deep meanings. I'll get you a good link for 7 brb.

I don't personally believe God is as involved as mainstream Christianity says he is (All you have to do is spend a few weeks in sub-Saharan Africa to see this) and certainly don't believe the God of the bible is as "loving" as preachers make him out to be.
If you're going to be a biblical literalists, one has t reconcile a loving God would never use evolution with a God who would kill men, women and children because of mistakes HE made.
