Its a shitty award based on superficial shite, its politicized and not worth much.

Rapin-Hoe might be the perfect person for it, come to think of it. Looks like they'll give it to anyone.

This isn’t the Medal of Honor.

What are your standards here?

John Wooden won 10 championships.

we agree for once

did you know Wooden only ever made $35k/salary and never once asked for a raise his entire career? The more you know...

Ted Williams sacrificed his prime playing years serving his country in the Marine Corps fighting in two wars and flew as John Glenn’s wingman for most of his tour in Korea.

He’s also arguably the greatest hitter to ever play the game.

I’d say he’s pretty worthy.

Yep, Williams lost 5 prime years of his career to war. Hit 521 homeruns. Assuming 40 hr a year those lost years, he would have hit well north of 700 homeruns and hit .344. That's Babe Ruth territory (though Ruth played his first several years as a pitcher and during the dead ball era).

Williams was a legit legend. Not only a fighter pilot and one of the greatest hitters ever, but a noted outdoorsman too.

If this is true then that medal has lost all meaning.

That’s an insane comparison

Simone Hiles has 4 Olympic a gold Medals and 19 World Championship medals. She’s one of the most decorated US gymnasts of all time.

Rapinoe has 2 world wins and a gold medal.

Y’all keep acting like these are hacks.

And what about the rest of her team. If my memory serves correctly, I don’t even think she was the best member of the women’s team, just the loudest and most obnoxious. She by no means deserves this award.

Dude, Lou Holtz is way more accomplished than Megan Rapinoe. First paragraph from his Wikipedia article:

quote:

Louis Leo Holtz (born January 6, 1937)[1] is a former American football player, coach, and analyst. He served as the head football coach at The College of William & Mary (1969–1971), North Carolina State University (1972–1975), the New York Jets (1976), the University of Arkansas (1977–1983), the University of Minnesota (1984–1985), the University of Notre Dame (1986–1996), and the University of South Carolina (1999–2004), compiling a career record of 249–132–7. Holtz's 1988 Notre Dame team went 12–0 with a victory in the Fiesta Bowl and was the consensus national champion. Holtz is the only college football coach to lead six different programs to bowl games and the only coach to guide four different programs to the final top 20 rankings.

The only reason she got it, is because she is a quitter.

Had she competed and won, no medal from the soy boys.
