How is the state not in the process? Of course they are...

remember everyone @nih said this would never happen to Texas

Exactly. People can joke about the carneys and shite but this is hurting some actual hard-working individuals as well.
Aka the same people fr33 probably claims won Trump the election since shillary ignored them. But they're all methheads now.
Perhaps people are jaded by the shittiness of the LA state fair. Texas and I believe Wisconsin amongst probably a few others put on a great one that a lot of hardworking people around the state depend on.

In context: there has been one every year since 1886 except during the world wars.

OU/UT getting moved to Jerry World? No reason to play it at the Cotton Bowl if the fair is off.

Can't they just tell everyone they should wear mask?

So? They built everything on the site that made it historical.
From their website and found through a 5 second Google:
quote:
The State Fair of Texas is a Texas nonprofit organization granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Fair does not receive any government funding or support. Its nonprofit purpose is funded through the proceeds from the annual State Fair of Texas event.

A pair of nurses getting feverish after breaking PPE compliance isn’t a scare.

If you are over 30 the fair is a beating and a money grab.
Other than Texas/OU weekend

TX-OU is a great day to go to the fair. Non-fans avoid it that day for the most part.
Otherwise it is a COVID playground most days. Almost unbearable crowds on the weekends.

It is listed as a state historical site but is owned by the City of Dallas.

So no State Fair for the OU vs UT game? I don't like this. This could be the beginning of a snowball effect.

They said if the football season is played like normal, the games can still be played at the cotton bowl. The schools can also move the games if they want/can.
