You should get in contact with Sam-I-Am. He's a specialist in green eggs.

Should have bought the USA made Primo instead of the Chinese BGE.

Take your pick: The parable of the frog and the scorpion or the parable of the OP and the dickheads.

It's basically the same lesson if you're paying attention.

How the hell does the gasket “melt”? It’s felt isn’t it? I have a Primo. It’s felt. Guess if it gets all gunky and you never replace it?

I knew a guy that dropped out in the 6th grade and by 17 years old he was making 90k a year welding big green eggs shut.

Just goes to show...

This, I don't understand how this is possible. I've gotten mine over 750F and no "melting". How old is it? Is it possible the hinge is just corroded (although it shouldn't be)?

Gasket is melted. Gonna have to get a flat blade screwdriver or something and work it loose. Then scrape the whole thing off and replace it. The replacement ones have higher heat tolerance so you likely won’t melt it again

Wait, Green Eggs have gaskets that can melt? WTF is the point of buying a high end grill if it has shite parts that can’t take high heat? That is like putting tires on a race car that will blow out at 75 mph.

Heat that Big Green Status Symbol back up to about three-fiddy and use a putty knife, working around the gasket until it becomes unstuck. Get an aftermarket replacement gasket that won't melt. You're welcome.

My weber kettle has never had this problem. Sounds like OT baller problems.
