Of course there's a God. He met Darth and said, nope, and then sent him back.

You've done it twice.

Moral relativity can exist, yes. But a single "good vs bad" morality cannot exist because you don't believe in a universal united truth, I.E. God.

I'm a believer, so I try to live my life like one (I fail more than I should), do no harm, be a good person, treat my fellow humans as I would like to be treated and try to leave this the world just a little better than it was before I got here. If my beliefs are true-then I've lived the way I was supposed to and will be reunited with those I love In the presence of God..If I'm wrong, the lights go out-I won't know the difference, hopefully, I will have made a positive difference to those who I met along the way and I will go on to be a really delicious meal for a bunch of worms. You, know the circle of life.

In order for it to be like that, wouldn't you be admitting that there is life after this life? You are "reborn" so to speak, and you don't recall this life, which would be the "before you were born" time?

Drawing similarities does not equal equating the value of an animal life to a human life.

I'm beginning to think you're just trolling.

A single "good vs bad" doesn't even exist within a single religion and certainly not across all religions.

Also, Saintsfan kid already said what Hitler did wasn't that bad he didn't deserve to be punished for it much outside of some jail time.

Dont put words in my mouth. I never said Hitler didnt deserve some form of punishment. I said he doesnt deserve eternal punishment. Meaning once he is banished to that "hell" he is never getting out. Whatever we do in say 79 years of life (average life expectancy) doesnt deserve eternal hell. Not from a human standpoint or a gods either.

Afterlife is the only thing poor and disabled people have to look forward to. That's the sad part.

I would say that's true for some out there, but after working with the disabled (who are in many cases poor too), they seem much happier than most people that have money and nothing but ability.

Doesn't your religion say that wanting to murder someone makes you a murderer? (Edit: Found it - 1 John 3:15)

You, right now in this thread, are ignoring God's word regarding a moral issue. What makes you think that it is ok to want to kill someone? Isn't that "bad" according to your moral guide? Aren't you worried about going to Hell?

You clearly don't think it is "bad" to want to kill someone, since you keep saying it. But your religious text says that it is.

You just made a post that says "a single "good vs bad" morality cannot exist because you don't believe in a universal united truth, I.E. God."

But you have made a moral judgement that is outside of the teachings attributed to your alleged universal united truth. In other words, you have made a moral judgment that something is not "bad" based on something other than God or religion.

You, right now, in this thread where you are taking the position that all moral judgments are based on God, are making a judgement that is explicitly NOT based on God.

Where did it come from? How are you able to form this position? What is the basis for your thinking that it is ok to keep saying you want to kill stupid people?

No. What religion says that?

None of this is correct or makes sense.

Where in my religious text does it say it's wrong to have impulses that you never act on?

quote:

You just made a post that says "a single "good vs bad" morality cannot exist because you don't believe in a universal united truth, I.E. God."

Correct. If there is not universal uniting source of truth and good then what you are left with is moral relativism. How can you claim or argue otherwise?

1 John 3:15
Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer.

Also Matthew 5:20-21
You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not murder,’ and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.

(I'm assuming you are a christian. I'm not as familiar with the other holy texts.)

Did you really not know that the Bible says that impure thoughts are equal to actions? This is basic stuff.

There are plenty of things you can do that would deserve eternal punishment. Whether or not you believe in God.

What book of John are you reading? That's 100% not what 3:15 says.

That in no way means that thinking about murder = murder. Also that's not what Mstthew:20 says. What Bible are you quoting?

quote:

the Bible says that impure thoughts are equal to actions

No. It doesn't. Not in the context you mean. And even if you interpret it that way all I need to do is honesty ask for forgiveness.
