That’s what you get for buying the cheapest shite you can find.

Frigidaire Appliances

Have always been known as shite products. Even their professional line.

On the other hand, the Kitchen-Aid refrigerator is a piece of shite as well. The ice maker doesn't work. Replaced 2 times already. The LED lights on the inside went out, right after the initial warranty expired. And the thing "leaked" from the ice maker continuously. But the leaks have stopped because the ice maker doesn't work. So there's that positive, I guess.

I'll be looking at a Fischer Paykel refrigerator when I finally am ready to make a switch.

All new appliances are shite.

Agreed. This is one situation where "they don't make them like they used to" is accurate. Consider yourself lucky to get 10 years out of a modern appliance without major repairs or full replacement.

Bought a new Bosch fridge in May. Control board went out in September. They just fixed it like a month ago because the part was on back order and customer service has a lapse in communication with the repair company.

Luckily the unit maintained temp the whole time and cycled properly, but the dispensers controls were dead.

Don’t buy a Samsung fridge with the ice maker in the refrigerator compartment either. We have to defrost ours once a month.

Aren't speed queens still made with a basic platform, with regard to washers and dryers? Those things are, or used to be, beasts. If that's still the case, next washer and dryer are going g to be speed queens. I don't even remember what brand we have now, but they suck. If you do anything more than a small load, they just shut down sometimes and flash with some error code. Have to turn them off/on and restart. I can't stand the load sensing on out dryer as it will shorten the time due to thinking its dry based on weight. I want basic shite that just runs through the full cycle with only a few options. I don't need 100 different possible combinations of washing and drying.

We have an LG fridge and I've replaced the ice maker twice in 9 years. I gave up. I just use the little $1 machines and bagged ice or ice trays.

The funny thing is that the oven in my house is from 1975. Still works like a tank. It's ugly but I'm hesitant to replace it

We're in the market for a 30" or 36" all Natural Gas range. After reading this some brands I thought were good seem to have gotten worse. What are the frontrunners for dependability?

After weeks and weeks of research, I recently purchased this:

Fisher Paykel CDV3-365H-N

I purchased mine through Greentoe (where retailers will accept lower bids).

Same with washing machines… the washer I grew up washing my clothes in my Grandma had for over 20 years… I still remember the day we picked it up from the old Basic that sat directly next to Pecanland Mall… only moving parts was a water pump and agitator …

This times 1000.

Bought a Samsung fridge 9yrs ago. Repaired the ice maker myself off of YouTube probably 5 or 6 times. It would work for a few months and then break or frost up. Door bins cracked constantly and also had to replace some heating element on the inside that kept a cooling line from freezing up.

They have lost my business forever.

It is insane to have to connect a refrigerator to the damn internet. I wish one of these companies would decide to market a basic AF line with no bells and whistles. I also prefer people to get off my lawn.

I don’t know how long it will last but I bought this Hisense in august. I did buy a Hisense flat screen back in 08 and it is still in use in my bedroom.

It’s a bottom freezer. Nothing crazy about it. Really plain in the inside which I like. You can move the shelves around to make more space.

Same with our LG. I don't know why I haven't tossed this thing to the curb yet. You couldn't give me another LG appliance for free

Yeah but you can watch TV on your refrigerator now. And it’ll tell you when you’re out of eggs and stuff.

No, thanks. Most places today have an open design from the kitchen to the living room (no longer my preference), so I feel this is not necessary.

Welcome to the world of modern appliances.

Seriously. None of them are anywhere near as durable as they were in the 70s & 80s. I remember the refrigerator, washer, and dryer my momma had when I was a kid. They all dated from the 60s to early 70s. The gas stove dated from the 50s. They were still going strong when I left for the army in the late 80s. Now, if you get 10 years out of an appliance it’s a miracle.
