CPA would seem to maybe be slightly better off in Houston as the number of opportunities, and pay per cost of living seems to be a slightly better deal.

I'd rather be homeless in Houston than making a six figure salary in San Francisco.

Similar housing situations from what I hear

From my experience the only thing culture means is the scent of piss and shite everywhere because people relieve themselves on the middle of the sidewalk, passed out strung out drug addicts everywhere, homeless everywhere, panhandlers begging for money everywhere, crime, and high prices.
You do realize that you get most or all of this in big cities such as San Fran, Seattle, New Orleans, etc.

LINK: here's a good source on determining a COL comparison between places.
According to that Seattle is only 5% more exepnsive than Dallas or Houston
Yeah i am going to have to disagree there

Unless SF is offering 3x the money go to Houston.

How long have you been with the girlfriend? If y'all have been together for awhile and you're serious about the relationship you shouldn't even be considering SF if she lives in Houston.
Also, can she come with you or do you not want her to?
We have been together for a year. So far the relationship has been good. She prefers Houston and said she wouldn't mind moving to San Fran in 6 months or so but she prefers Houston.

Apparently he doesn't. Can't wait until he encounters one of the native homeless here in Houston zonked out on kush. They love to jump out in front of your car or better yet, lay down in the road just for the frick of it

Yeah it's about the same here in New Orleans. No one really gives a shite.

Yea that one's weird. I've only looked at San Fran & NYC vs. Houston which spits out a ~30% discrepancy.
Thought Seattle would be higher as well.

Long distance doesn't work but you should never give up more money for a girl

SF is you want to live surrounded by liberals and pay the highest state sales tax in the country.
Houston if you want to be in a conservative state with no state income tax

But he isnt. 30k more in SF is less money when it comes to net income. More money in Houston
I make $30k more in Seattle than I did in Iowa yet i had more disposable income in Iowa. Funny how that works

Man my company allowed three of my colleagues to move to Seattle with no bump in pay and all three of them were like "they will eventually give us a bump." A year and a half later those mofos are struggling out their arse right now with the price difference from Dallas to Seattle. One of them is trying to get back to Dallas now as we speak.
Frick Seattle. 120K a year doesnt get you shite there.

Yes my relationship will most likely end if I move to San Fran. Quite sad but I don't think it will be worth it. I also have family in San Fran but none in Houston

I don't think it's the Kush causing the homeless to jump in front of cars, that's probably the crack.

I worked for my uncle, outside, in downtown Houston jackass, i am no stranger
Besides my office will be in uptown so i dont have to venture downtown anyway

Is your girlfriend a lot younger than you or was she a virgin well into her 20's?

Exactly
People dont get it
I moved here for the big market experience on my resume. i knew when i moved here that it would just be a short 1-2 year stay. Got what i needed and now i am out.
Cost of living is a bigger deal than people realize.
