I'm in Pearland and we've gotten a couple good bands, but nothing serious. The most recent started ~45 mins ago and hasn't let up.

Obligatory, "not worth cancelling schools around here", but oh well.

John Bel Edwards @LouisianaGov Today, I declared a state of emergency in advance of Tropical Storm Beta, which could impact Louisiana in the coming days. The declaration allows the state to assist local governments with their response needs. bit.ly/2RNU0Mg #lagov #lawx #Beta

I think every tweet by JBE should be hashtagged #Beta

I haven't read all the pages so apologies if repeating a question. What happens if one of these Greek letter storms is real bad? Do they retire the name?

Baw, lil Duchess going to be learning the radar and satellite early. First words will be "rapid intensification" if I have any say.

Wouldn’t that actually put us on the “not as much rain” side of the storm? Still lots of rain but probably lower totals.

Rockport with a surge of a couple of feet maybe a little more so far, high tide is around 9pm so I'm sure it's going to get higher after dark. NW winds 25 to 30 with a few higher gust, not a wind event for sure. The first pic is of the old downtown area, it is protected from the north winds thus the calm water along the water front.

Being induced.

Went to her OB today, had a big check up and her weekly blood work. Got a call 30 minutes after leaving to come back to the hospital cuz we need to do this now.

Surprise!

Congrats! Best of luck to Mom and baby.

Are there going to be intensity updates every 4 hours as we get closer to delivery?
